Dear SCB Families,

We are continuing to monitor the heat in our buildings as we realize the impact it can have on students and staff. Tomorrow, the heat index is anticipated to be in the 90’s again. Without air conditioning in our building, consecutive days with these conditions make it extremely uncomfortable and difficult to concentrate and unsafe for our students and staff. We have made the decision to cancel school tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2, including all after school activities.

We anticipate returning to school on Thursday, September 3 when the heat index is expected to drop below 90 degrees.

We understand that this can cause an inconvenience for families. Please know that we take student safety seriously and appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Bishop Haines and all of the concelebrants who joined us for our Picnic Mass and Church Blessing. We are especially blessed by the presence of those priests and deacon who share deep, lasting ties to the St. Charles Borromeo community.
