Recently, Stacy traveled to Claremont, California to collaborate with teachers from all eleven schools within the unified district. Breathwork for Educators and Brain Science, Self Regulation and You, were the areas of focus. Their enthusiasm was infectious. School has begun for them inspired by a direct experience with the Conscious Classroom trainings. The teachers are ready with an outlook and exercises that will enhance the learning environment.

We love to help educators! Reach out to us today if you’re interested in having Conscious Classroom share what we do with your team!

Life doesn’t always go as planned. Summer can bring transitions, uncertainty, and opportunities to practice skills that help us navigate change. Resilience and resourcefulness work together to help us recover from challenges, recognize our strengths, and move forward.

Resilience isn’t about avoiding difficulty or always getting it right. It is the ability to adapt, recover, and keep going when things feel challenging. Each experience gives us an opportunity to learn, adapt, and strengthen our capacity to navigate what comes next.

Resourcefulness begins with a pause and a question: What do I already have that can help me? Our resources include our knowledge, skills, experiences, relationships, creativity, curiosity, breath, movement, and willingness to ask for help. Rather than focusing only on what’s missing, resourcefulness helps us notice the possibilities and tools already available to us.

Resilience helps us recover; resourcefulness helps us respond. Together, they help us approach challenges with confidence and flexibility. When things don’t go as planned, we can pause, focus on what we can control, draw on our strengths, and choose one meaningful next step—shifting from “I can’t” to “What can I try?”

Want to know more and learn about practices that can foster your resilience and resourcefulness, head to our website site and take advantage of our FREE OER offerings! There you can check out all our weekly emails and sign up for them to be delivered weekly into your inbox!

Last week, we explored creativity. This week, we shift to building meaningful relationships. Empathy and sociability are lifelong skills that help us understand others, build trust, and foster connected communities.

FOUNDATIONS OF CONNECTION

Self-Awareness: Understanding our own emotions allows us to recognize them in others.

Sociability: Using communication, kindness, and respect to help others feel welcome and included.

THE SCIENCE OF SAFETY

Connection requires a sense of safety in the brain and body.

WHEN CALM: The prefrontal cortex enables us to pause, consider perspectives, and listen with curiosity.

WHEN STRESSED: The brain shifts toward self-protection, making deep connection much more difficult.

DAILY ACTIONS

Healthy relationships thrive on intentional choices. Listening with curiosity, showing appreciation, and assuming positive intent create environments where everyone can thrive.

Connection Challenge

TIME TO PRACTICE

Choose one way to strengthen a relationship today:

• Listen without interrupting.
• Learn one new thing about someone.
• Offer a sincere compliment or words of encouragement.
• Invite someone into a conversation or activity.
• Express gratitude to someone who has made a difference in your life.

Want to know more? Head to our website and sign up for our weekly emails. We’d love to share more about what we do at Conscious Classroom and how we can come alongside educators and students.

Conscious Classroom is heading back to Montana!

Shape Montana is an organization of educators dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles among all Montanans through the promotion of health education, physical education, lifetime fitness and recreational activities, and dance. Stacy is proud to be a part of it and presenting a workshop to them and their participants again this year. We love sharing the message of Conscious Classroom!

Before we can connect with the athlete within, we must first relate and connect with the entire human being within. What is the relevance and sense of belonging that your students feel? It’s crucial to convey to students they belong simply because they exist. It’s their role in life to identify with their unique talents and gifts. This becomes our practice as we learn and grow.

As a physical mentor, role model, and coach, you have the opportunity to highlight these specific talents for your students. The more experiences the students have that reveal their abilities, the more capable and competent they become. Our competence breeds confidence, and this is when self-belief flourishes.

We can’t wait to see everyone and dig deeper!
