We had the honor of welcoming the graduating seniors from Christiana High School to Maurice Pritchett Sr. Academy for a special celebratory walk! 💙💛

Our students and staff lined the hallways with cheers, applause, and excitement as our drumline helped create an unforgettable moment to recognize the hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments of the Class of 2026. 👏✨

🥚🚀 Engineering in Action! 🚀🥚

Our students recently took on the exciting “Egg Drop” challenge as part of their preparation for the State Science Olympiad!

Using only 20 straws, a trash bag, 2 cups, and a yard of tape, students worked through the engineering design process to create a structure that would protect an egg during a two-story drop. This hands-on activity challenged students to think critically, problem-solve, collaborate, and test their designs just like real engineers! 👏

We are proud of our future scientists and innovators for their creativity, teamwork, and determination throughout the challenge. 💙

MPA students had an amazing time participating in Tennis in the Streets in Wilmington! This annual event serves up a new experience and gives local students the opportunity to try tennis, build new skills, and experience the joy of the sport. 🎾💙

Our middle school soccer players wrapped up their season on May 7, 2026. The smiles, teamwork, sportsmanship, and memories made throughout the season are something to celebrate! 👏

We are proud of our student-athletes for their hard work, dedication, growth, and commitment all season long. Thank you to our coaches, families, and supporters who cheered them on every step of the way! 🌟

Our 8th grade students recently visited Fort Delaware on Pea Patch Island for an engaging hands-on history experience. Students explored Fort Delaware’s important role as a Union prison camp during the Civil War and connected what they learned to broader Civil War strategies and the daily lives of both prisoners and guards.

Through primary sources, site observations, and interactive experiences, students gained a deeper understanding of the fort’s significance in both U.S. and Delaware history.

Students also had the opportunity to observe living historians portraying historical roles such as a laundress, blacksmith, and soldier—bringing history to life right before their eyes! ⚒️🪖

Experiences like these help our students make meaningful connections between classroom learning and the world around them. 💙

✨ Celebrating Our Future Leaders! ✨
Yesterday, our Youth in City Government Shadow Day winners had the incredible opportunity to experience leadership in action after being selected by their peers through a highly competitive process.

Students researched their chosen roles, wrote and delivered speeches in front of more than 100 peers, and earned the honor of advancing through the selection process. This year-long program involves over 200 student candidates and more than 3,000 student voters across the City of Wilmington!
