Raise your hand if you’ve never heard of cradle cap before 🙋♀️
If you’re expecting or a new parent, this is something you’ll want to know about before it surprises you.
Cradle cap is very common in babies and usually isn’t something to worry about. It usually shows up as flaky or slightly oily patches of skin, and while it can look a little concerning at first, it doesn’t bother your baby and often clears up on its own over time. If you do feel like you want to use a little oil to help loosen the flakes, coconut oil is a safe, gentle option. We’d skip other oils like olive oil or peanut oil.
