The moment of relief, excitement, and pride that the goal I set out to accomplish I followed through with by crossing the finish line at hyrox dc 🙌

Keeping the promises you make with yourself is an amazing feeling 🫶

The Skierg was something I had never done before and really only got a couple months 2x per week practice when I was finally able to get access to one.

The very first time I used it it took me like 6mins to make it to the 1000m mark and with my practice and a lot of tik tok videos I was able to get this one down to around the 4:30 mark for 1000m.

My best one was during my actual Hyrox but I cant remember the exact time I just know running into the station, doing 1000m, waiting for the judge to say all good and running out I hit 5:06 so pretty happy with that.

Everyone always says not to go too hard on the ski so it doesnt mess up the rest of the race but I felt like the pace I was going was perfect to maintain without gassing me out so ill just continue to work on my best form and trying to get the time a little faster. Seems pretty similar with the rower in that I can pull stronger with a little bit slower pace but go further with each pull.

Race day rower 🥹🚣‍♀️

I used to have NO idea what any of the numbers on the rower meant and my form was… pretty questionable. 🤣

The first time I really started paying attention to my 1,000m time, I was around 4:46.

Now I’m consistently just a tad over 4 minutes, I’ve hit 3:57 on a good day, and I can hold under 2:10/500m for a while without completely falling apart or jump off do another exercise and come back and be at the same.

But honestly, the biggest improvement has been actually understanding what I’m doing. I’ve learned how to slow my stroke rate down, get more distance out of each pull, and use my body more efficiently instead of just trying to row as fast as humanly possible. 😂

It’s pretty fun looking back and realizing how much you can improve when you just keep showing up and actually learn the skill between feedback in classes and tons of videos on tik tok.

Next goal: consistently under 4:00 for 1,000m

Sandbag lunges was actually the station that felt the easiest but that was probably because I'd been training with mostly 40lb sandbags and then in the last month saw the gym had a 50lb and started using that.

It was a big adjustment doing lunges and being required to touch the ground with your knee because I was always taught to float it but once I did these over and over it got really easy.

When I picked the 10kg Sandbag during the warm up before hyrox it felt like nothing which was exciting and when I got through the station I just continously moved through it now problem even after all the running. I finished this station in 4:44 and could have probably went faster but also was unsure about what to do if I got to close to other people. I did end up being able to switch lanes to pass people but I also was worried about any potential penalties so I was being cautious.

Highly recommend training way heavier like I did.

Now I'm just going to work on speed and moving through the lunges faster with the 50lb Sandbag and also see if I can go a little heavier since pro weights is like 20kgs so 40 something pounds and thats what im working towards now 💪

Sled pull is another one of my favorites 😍 I spent a lot of practice Onelife Fitness Ashburn once they got a rope figuring out how to manage the rope and my best technique. I worked my way up to above pro Weight in practice and it greatly helped race day because the pulling felt easy. I had also practiced having the small box of space to stay in on the pull as well.

The only problem i faced which made my time take a little longer was on my first pull the sled was left before crooked and as I was pulling it, it was awkwardly going into a different lane which messed me up because I know you get penalized for going into other lanes and so i worried about that and was trying to figure out how to fix it from so far away haha. Then a judge saw and came out and fixed it but I had to wait for them to lift it and move it. After that fix this station went great for me.

My time for this was 5:15 which counts running into the station and out of it but I know this one can easily be faster especially if I dont have that sled issue next time.

I actually LOVE the sled push it was something 4 months ago I had never done before and managed to work my way up so far to pushing 340lbs. Open weights is 225lbs so I trained this staying as heavy as possible and it made race day feel great.

After the push finished I wasn't expecting how my legs felt and walked a bit afterwards to shake them out some but ill be better prepared next time since I have a better idea how they will feel when it comes time to start running again. I learned throughout the race that I can actually keep running and my legs will chill out eventually haha but first experience and I still feel super proud.

Also learning how amazing the hyrox community is, on the very last push the girl next to me said let's finish this together and I immediately locked back in haha I love that she said that and helped me pick up the pace a little bit haha

Overall my sled push was in 2:47 seconds to push 225lbs - 50m - plus the run in and out of the station. That's my time to bear next time.

NOBULL shoes 👌

100 Wall Balls to finish 😵‍💫 this is the station I need the most work on but I never got a chance to practice with a real target so when I got to the warm up area race day and tested it out.... I was like crap 🤣😅 highly recommend not doing what I did and finding a target at the right height to work on.

I made it but it took ALOT more time than I hoped so have a great place to improve on to shave off more time in my next one.

I thought maybe all my days of basketball would help but no haha my legs were good but my upper body was like nah keep taking a break 🙃

Peep the last Pic when im like where's a partner who can tap in 🤣😅

🚨 The Future of Weight Loss Isn’t Another Diet or Medication… It’s Smarter Tailored Nutrition Powered by AI.

For decades, the weight loss industry has focused on getting people to lose weight and many do...

But what happens next?
Millions lose 50, 75, or even 100+ pounds… only to gain it all back.
Others stay stuck in a lifelong cycle of losing and regaining the same weight over and over again.

Not because they weren’t committed. Not because they lacked discipline.
But because the system of supporting them wasn’t built for their long-term success.

And now, with weight loss medications dominating the conversation, we’re still missing the most critical piece—nutrition and what people are actually eating.

If we truly want to help people to succeed with their weight long term, while bettering their health, we need to be adding in a smarter tools and helping people create their own sustainable approach.

I break it all down in my latest article—check it out below

For years, the weight loss industry has focused on one thing: getting people to lose weight. And while millions succeed in the short term losing 50, 75, or even 100+ pounds.
