Our interns do more than observe. They contribute directly to programs that connect students, educators, business leaders, and the Northeast Florida community to global issues.

This award, which celebrates one of 90 World Affairs Councils across the United States, is a true testament to our community of globally-minded members, sponsors, supporters, and lifelong learners.

We were thrilled to see our Great Decisions high school students attending The Eyes of the World: From D-Day to VE Day on September 30 as special guests of The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts!
Students from Creekside, Hilliard Middle-Senior, Ponte Vedra, River City Science Academy, and Terry Parker High Schools represented the next generation of global thinkers at this inspiring community event. 🌍🎭

The World Affairs Council of Jacksonville are pleased to announce Ashton Stover and Nora Bouziane as our Fall 2025 interns.
Ashton, our Global Community Outreach Intern holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from West Virginia University and is currently pursuing her master's degree in International Affairs at the University of North Florida. She brings a strong academic foundation and valuable experience from internships with U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito and Marco Rubio, as well as Congressman John H. Rutherford.
Her legislative work has given her insight into both domestic and international policy. Additionally, Ashton studied abroad in Santander, Spain, where she explored Spanish government, language, and culture—an experience that deepened her global perspective and strengthened her cross-cultural communication skills.
Now based in Jacksonville, Ashton is eager to support the Council’s mission of fostering global awareness and civic engagement. We are excited to have Ashton join the Council team this summer and look forward to all she will contribute!
Nora Bouziane, our Digital Media Intern, is a freshman at the University of North Florida, where she is pursuing a double major in International Business and Marketing. She is actively involved on campus as the Marketing Director for the Muslim Student Association, where she manages digital branding, event promotion, and content creation to strengthen student engagement.
With experience in photography, social media strategy, and event promotion, Nora is passionate about combining creative design with strategic communication. She has developed professional graphics, promotional campaigns, and photography coverage for both campus and community events.
Through her internship with the World Affairs Council, Nora looks forward to supporting event coverage and digital media projects that connect people to global issues and local initiatives. If you see her capturing our Council events, make sure to flash her a smile!
