Before having children, I taught 3rd grade and have since been homeschooling my five children from preschool through high school. I have master's degree in Elementary Education and current K-6 FL Certification. As the parent of a dyslexic child, I have become very familiar with reading struggles and welcome the opportunity to share what I have learned, along with any resources that might be of hel

p to other families. My family primarily uses the Charlotte Mason approach to homeschool. We also enjoy keeping a small homestead with many friendly animals. Younger children and siblings can be easily entertained, enjoying the animals and play equipment during your family's evaluation session. Prices are listed below:

Friends, I have been making room on our bookshelves and clearing out some things we are finished with. I have put them in our honest-shop at Knot Refined Farmstead for free. Please feel free to stop by, look through them at your convenience and take whatever you can use. There are a few sets with teacher-guides (Esperanza Rising, Charlotte’s Web, & Brown Girl Dreaming.) There are curriculums from RightStart Math, All About Reading, All About Spelling, The Good and Beautiful, various Charlotte-Mason recommended books, living books, easy readers, school textbooks, Ortho-Gillingham guides and supplies for early literacy/phonological awareness.
Please help yourself. All supplies are in a teal shed with a sign on the door that reads, “knot house”, located at 453 Chinquapin Rd. Monticello, FL 32344 (in Lloyd.)

Every time I watch my kids help in the garden or run around the homestead with real purpose, it reminds me why we chose this life. Childhood isn’t meant to be spent hunched over worksheets while the best parts of the day slip by. It’s meant to be lived. It’s meant to be hands in the dough, dirt on their legs, real skills in their pockets, and curiosity guiding the pace. If they grow up knowing how to make good food, run a home, tend a garden, and love learning, I’m not stressing over what a standardized test would have said. They’re learning real life, and that’s what lasts.

Hi Friends! If we haven’t already met, I’m Leeda Fendley, a FL certified teacher and homeschool mom of 5. I have homeschooled my children from preschool through high school. One of my children is officially identified as having dyslexia, so I’m understanding of the challenges presented by a learning disability. I have a personal hobby of homesteading.
