Youth soccer development starts with actually playing the game.
Eric loved the level at Club América Cup, but one thing stood out:
Too many young players spending more time on the bench than on the field.
At the grassroots level, development comes from touches, decisions, mistakes, and minutes played.
The level of this tournament was outstanding. The talent was there. The future is bright.
These are simply the small details that can help raise the level even further.

Little did I know I was warming up with the MVP of the night 🐐
06/02/2026
From watching him on YouTube to playing alongside him.
This weekend at I was privileged to play in the Creator Game alongside a lot of creators whose content I’ve followed for years.
But honestly, there was one person I was most excited to meet.
Matt Sheldon.
Five years ago, before Spike17 was even a thing, I was watching his videos. What inspired me wasn’t just the football, it was the message behind it all. Work hard. Stay patient. Trust the process. Believe in yourself, even when nobody else sees the vision yet.
At a time when I was trying to figure out my own path, those videos gave me confidence to start creating and put myself out there.
I had no idea where it would lead.
Fast forward five years, and I found myself sharing the field with the same person who helped inspire me to start this journey in the first place.
It’s one of those moments that makes you stop and appreciate how far you’ve come.
A reminder that the people who inspire you today might become the people you stand beside tomorrow.
Grateful for the journey. Grateful for the inspiration. And grateful for moments like these that remind me why I started.
Thank you, Matt.
Bro was putting on a show! 🤯🍿
Would this have been the best goal of the tournament? 👇🏽
