While the results of this year's election did not go entirely as we had hoped, I wanted all of you to know that it’s been an absolute privilege and honor to serve our beloved University for the past nine years as a trustee. I’m proud of my body of work during this special time. And make no mistake - I have every intention of continuing to serve Penn State in a number of ways moving forward.

For now, I offer my congratulations and support to those who have been either re-elected, newly elected, or appointed to our Board of Trustees. You have been entrusted with something very special. Be committed, engaged, selfless, open-minded, and ethical leaders. Penn State deserves nothing less from you.

Again, thank you to retired Navy Captain Gary Zuckerman, my former college roommate, for his glowing endorsement published last week in the Centre Daily Times. Your support means the world to me!

Last week, Julie and I hosted a special event at our home in State College to launch the Loretta Claiborne and Sue Paterno Endowment for the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. We had more than 100 guests in attendance and raised $50,000 for SOPA! Thank you to everyone who joined us. WE ARE PROUD!

This past Friday, we celebrated the completion of our $2.1 billion “For A Greater Penn State” capital fundraising campaign alongside my alumni-elected trustees, Ted Brown and Barbara Doran. I am excited to work with incoming president Neeli Bendapudi to make the most of this incredible investment in our university.

Proud to participate yesterday alongside more than 2,500 other runners and walkers in the Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run, benefitting Special Olympics Pennsylvania.
