The Penn State Outing Club, PSOC for short, is an entirely student-run organization that is dedicated to experiencing the outdoors in every possible capacity.

PSOC was founded in 1920, making it one of the oldest clubs at Penn State.

PSOC has been braving the cold and snow these past weekends to explore the beautiful PA outdoors. We had members out in Quehanna Wild Area, World’s End, and R.B. Winter State Park! ⛄️🌲

As the weather warms up we are excited to run more super fun hikes. Come to one of our weekly meetings to learn more!

Hello, WHAT A YEAR!
We have had such an amazing year and have made a lot of great memories met alot of great people!
We got over 200 new members, hiked 288 miles, and conquered 65,885ft of elevation!
HUGE thanks to all of the members who helped us run trips and all our WFAs and WFRs who put in overtime to help us get all those trips out!
Also big thanks to the 2025 officer board for all the hard work they’ve done to make this year amazing, and let’s welcome our NEW 2026 officer board!!!
We have already achieved so much so and can’t wait to see which way the new year takes us, have a great winter break everyone and see you all in the new year! Hello.

This month will be one of those experiences where you’ll sit back and say “Oh yea, I remember that!” Because What an eventful month this has been!!
This October we have had so many amazing events and trips!
First we would like to thank for giving us the privilege of meeting and hiking with you.
We also had our long term tradition of a women in backpacking trip go out!
In addition to many other backpacking and day trips full with great memories and experiences!
Can’t wait to make many more PSOC memories!

HEYYY PSOC!!!!
Here’s a recap of some of our trips for the first half of the semester!
It’s crazy to think how fast it’s flown by!
Glad to see everyone enjoying the warmer weather and nice fall foliage, and big thanks to all the member ran trips we’ve been having recently!
Can’t wait for the second half we already have a lot of of great stuff planned out!!
