We’re about a month away from our 2026 Fire Academy students graduating—and we’re already registering for the 2026–2027 academic year.

If you’re looking to finish your associate degree, move into leadership or officer training, or get into the 2027 Delta College Fire Academy, now is the time to start planning.

We will once again be offering our hybrid Fire Academy designed for working adults and non-traditional students. All lectures and assignments are completed online, and students meet every Saturday during the winter for hands-on, practical training.

Are you interested in finishing your Fire Science degree or taking classes to further your knowledge in the fire service? Registration is now open for spring courses at Delta College.

Two online classes begin May 11:

Advanced Fire Administration – This course focuses on leadership, organizational management, budgeting, and decision-making within modern fire departments. It is designed for firefighters preparing for supervisory and administrative roles.

Fire Science Law – This course examines the legal aspects of the fire service, including liability, firefighter safety laws, fire investigations, and the legal responsibilities of fire officers.

Seats are limited, with only 15 spots available in each class.

Busy Saturday for the Delta College Fire Science Program. While several students are meeting on campus today, our Hybrid Fire Academy students are at the City of Saginaw training facility working through practical skill stations. It’s great to see students applying what they’ve learned in the classroom and building the hands-on skills required for the fire service. Days like this are what prepare the next generation of firefighters.

We are excited to attend tonight's open house to get ready for the new high school CTE program starting in the fall of 2026. This will be Deltas third high school CTE program.

Great training this morning with our Fire Academy students working on building search operations and victim rescue — some of the most critical skills firefighters will ever use.

These scenarios challenge students to think, communicate, and operate as a team under realistic conditions.

We were also joined today by students from the Tuscola County Fire Academy, making it a great opportunity to train together and learn from one another.

Proud of the work these students are putting in every week.

Getting ready to kick off the Winter Fire Academy tonight with Academy Orientation!

This will officially be Delta College Fire Academy #14, and we are excited to get this class started. We’ve got a strong group of instructors lined up and great momentum throughout the program.

As of 7:00 PM tonight, Delta College Fire Science will have three separate Fire Academy classes running through May — something we’re incredibly proud of.

Looking forward to a great semester and the continued growth of our program.
