🎉 Happy First Day of School, PCR-I! 💙🤍

We are SO excited to have our students and staff back in the building today! There’s nothing quite like seeing our hallways, classrooms, and playgrounds filled with smiling faces again.

🏈💙 FROM THE SIDELINE TO THE END ZONE: KEAN’S BIG MOMENT! 💙🏈

If you’ve spent much time around Putnam County football, you know Kean.

Most nights, he’s working behind the scenes as one of our most dependable members of the team. Water? He’s on it. Gatorade? Ready to go. Footballs, equipment, med kits, or whatever else is needed on the sideline? Kean is usually close by and ready to help.

But tonight at the PCHS Football Jamboree, the guy who spends so much time helping everyone else get ready for their moment got one of his own.

Kean suited up. 🏈

And when his number was called, he took the ball, headed for the end zone and RAN IT IN FOR A TOUCHDOWN! 🙌💙

For a few unforgettable seconds under the Friday night lights, Kean wasn’t the hydration specialist. He wasn’t the equipment guy. He was a Putnam County Midget football player scoring six on his home field.

And judging by that smile, we’re pretty sure he’ll be replaying this one for years to come. 💙

Way to go, Kean! We appreciate everything you do for our athletes and coaches, and we’re glad tonight the spotlight belonged to you.

Thank you to everyone who came out tonight to support our student-athletes at the jamboree!

The action continues tomorrow morning as our Lady Midget Softball team takes the field at the Mike Schmidli Softball Complex and Max Mothersbaugh Field. 🥎

Then next Friday night, hit the road to Memphis, Missouri, as our Putnam County Midgets take on the Scotland County Tigers for more gridiron grit! 🏈

🎓 PCHS ALUMNI: SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY! 💙

Are you a Putnam County graduate who is already attending college or technical school and has completed at least 60 college credit hours? Don’t miss this opportunity!

The UHS/PCHS Alumni Association is now accepting applications for its 2026 Alumni Scholarships to help Putnam County graduates continue their education during the 2026-2027 academic year.

📅 APPLICATION DEADLINE: AUGUST 30, 2026

Who is eligible?
Applicants must:
• Be a Putnam County graduate
• Be currently attending college or technical school
• Have completed at least 60 college credit hours toward their degree

Applications must include:
• Completed scholarship application
• One-page statement about activities and achievements at PCHS
• One-page statement outlining career goals and objectives
• One-page statement about college, community, and civic involvement since high school
• Academic transcripts for all college courses — unofficial copies are accepted

Completed applications and supporting documents should be submitted to Tom Keedy, UHS/PCHS Alumni Association Scholarship Chairman, at [email protected] by August 30.

📣 FITNESS CENTER & WEIGHT ROOM CLOSURE TONIGHT
(Friday, August 21, 2026)

A quick heads-up for our Fitness Center and Weight Room patrons! Both facilities will be closed from 5:30–9:00 pm this evening, Friday, August 21, as we welcome football officials for the Putnam County High School Football Jamboree. The space will be used as a locker room for our officials during the event.

Our Putnam County R-I Elementary Back-to-School Bash was a hit! 💙🤍

It was so wonderful to see all these bright, shining smiles filling our halls with excitement and anticipation for another great school year. We know it’s only been a short while since the school year ended, but it is amazing how much our students have grown! We cannot wait to welcome them back on Monday, August 24, for the first day of the 2026-2027 school year!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our local organizations and businesses, staff members, volunteers, and especially our students and families for helping make this evening another successful event for our PCR-I community. We are so thankful for the way our community comes together to support our students and schools! 💙
