To celebrate Youth Art Month the Missouri Art Education Association hosts a Statewide Art Exhibition at the Missouri State Capital. (Due to Covid-19 this years exhibition is virtual.) I am pleased to share that four Putnam County students are currently being represented in the online exhibition; Tori G.,Grace R.,Ethen R., and Jenna B.
I am also pleased to announce that two Putnam County students are awards winners. Tori G. (Senior) was awarded the Governor’s Ladies First Choice Award, hand picked by our First Lady. Tori’s artwork will be framed and on display at the Governor’s Mansion in Jefferson City until next March. Grace R. (Senior) was award a District Award and will receive a gift card from Missouri Alliance for the Arts.
All four of our students representing PC will receive a certificate and have their work on display online, see the link below. Having artwork at our State Capital is a major achievement and accomplishment for students.

High School Art Week 3/8 - 3/12
All high school students and staff are welcome to participate and celebrate March:Youth Art Month!

Monday: Mona Lisa Monday-Wear your pj’s

Tuesday: Dress as your favorite teacher, famous artist, or just plain artsy.

Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday-Wear as many colors and patterns as you can!

Thursday: Tie-Dye Thursday
Thursday after school all 8th graders who have turned in their signed permission slip will stay to do a fun project with the high school Art Club!!!

Friday: Button day. All week during MS and HS lunch shifts the HS Art Club will be selling buttons and stickers!

PCR1 Art Students for the 2020-2021 school year!

I am requesting that students have their own basic art kit this school year. This will cut down on shared materials and also allow students to work on projects at home if necessary. The school will be posting the same supply list, but I wanted to share here and help to reach as many of you as possible.

I will be providing each student with a 3 ring binder and supply pouch, which students will be responsible for transporting to and from class daily.

What you need for Middle School Art, Art 1, and Advanced Art. (Not needed for Art Design class which is digital)

SUPPLY LIST:
-Scissors
-Elmers Glue
-Stick glue
-Colored pencils
-Ruler
2 packs of baby wipes (to be left in the art room)
