And Fayette Fury…. Long story here, but …this team filled a need and a love for the sport… and I was determined to give our kids this opportunity…

📣Big Annoucement📣

I, Miranda Means Novak, am excited and proud to announce my candidacy for Laurel Highlands School Director.

I am a lifelong resident of Fayette County and have lived in North Union Township for almost 20 years.

I live with my husband, Steve, a Laurel Highlands graduate ( Class of ‘82) , and our two boys, Spencer (13), and Henry (11). Both of our boys are involved within the schools at Laurel Highlands and our community with sports and the arts (Hopefully, you just saw Henry in the LH musical performance)! Our two older children, Josh and Natalie, both graduated from Laurel Highlands and both have successful careers in their prospective fields. I am a proud Penn State graduate with a BS in Marketing and Management and have my MBA through California University of Pennsylvania. I am currently employed as a Regional Manager for Mahindra, the number one selling agricultural tractor in the world.

Community engagement has been my passion since an early age, but after marrying Steve, I was immediately involved with Laurel Highlands. I knew one day, I’d run for school board and bring my passion for our children as the focus to all those lives I could impact.

I’m currently serving on the board at RW Clark Youth Baseball and Softball where our goal is to always give children the chance and the place to play ball. In addition to RW Clark League, I am the proud owner of a baseball and softball travel organization, Fayette Fury. We are entering our 4th year with Travel Ball, and we provide area families the opportunity to play ball at a very minimal cost through fundraising and community sponsorship. Our children have traveled the east coast playing ball, and I’m excited to see where they go this year. ⚾️🥎

I’ve worked closely with our elementary schools, especially, Marshall Elementary and served as the 5th Grade PTO President. I’ve witnessed first hand the accomplishments of these kids, but also the needs of our children and the needs of our schools.

If elected as your school director, I have many goals and ideas, but my passion is our children and those who educate them.

If you know me, I always say, our Children are our Future… and their education, their experience, and their livelihood stay at the top of my “must do” list.

The elected school directors must find ways to retain the talented teachers at Laurel Highlands while also influencing the fiscal health of our district and deciding where tax payer money is spent.

Today, I’m asking for your support and look forward to collaborating with current and new school directors , our teachers, our parents and first and foremost, the children!
