Yesterday was my last event in Washington School, and although I’m not afraid of change, it still stinks lol. Due to the redistricting, I will no longer be on the board at WES, but I had every intention of staying fully involved.

When we moved here, after being PTA president for five years at my older daughter’s school, I told myself I wasn’t going to get back into PTA stuff. I was just going to be a regular mom, mind my business, and pick up my kids like a sane person. But that’s just not who I am. Even though I’m always stressed, and have said “I quit” about 2,000 times, PTA has become such a big part of who I am and I love every minute of it. School events become the kids’ core memories, I know they were for me, and that’s why I do what I do, for every kid, not only my own.

To my board this year, Elizabeth, Christina, Natalie, and Cathy, thank you. You have become family to me. Our bonds go far beyond PTA roles and titles, and they can never be broken. Thank you for taking on your roles and then some. Thank you for the endless group texts, for going along with all of my random (but fun) ideas, and for using your PTO days to help bring those ideas to life. I love you all more than words can say, and I am so grateful for every memory we made together.

Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who have ever said, “Let me know if you need anything.” I know many of you probably regretted saying that shortly afterward because I definitely let you know! 😉 Thank you for showing up, helping out, and always supporting our events, our school, and our kids. From the matching shirts to tutus everyone has been such great sports! And lastly to ALL the staff at WES who puts up with my ideas with a smile on their face always! Thank you, thank you.

And thank you to everyone for allowing me to be your president for the last two years. It has truly been an honor.

P.S. I know there are still a few more things on my PTA to-do list before I'm officially done, but I wanted to take a minute to share my appreciation!

Hi WES Families,

Please note that the PTA meeting on Wednesday, May 13th will be for 4th grade parents only. We will be discussing the upcoming end-of-year events and activities, as well as navigating the many changes currently taking place within the district.

Our final general PTA meeting of the school year, open to all grades and families, will now take place on Monday, May 18th at 7pm. During this meeting, we will discuss general PTA topics, end-of-year updates, and upcoming events.

We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and truly appreciate your understanding and support. We hope to see you there!
