I have had quite a few messages this week about starting back up tutoring and I wanted to respond after praying more about it. Iāve been doing a lot of thinking about tutoring, and even though I really wanted to continue doing it, I just donāt feel like itās the best thing for me at this moment in my life.
I have so much going on right now between being a first-year teacher, my classroom, wedding planning, thinking about whether I want to go back to school for my masterās, and just trying to balance everything life is throwing at me. Iāve realized that adding tutoring on top of all of that may be more than I can realistically handle right now.
This decision honestly isnāt easy because I truly love tutoring and I love being able to help my students and their families. Itās something Iāve always enjoyed, and I hate feeling like Iām stepping away from something I care about.
But Iām learning that itās okay to recognize when I have too much on my plate and give myself permission to slow down. It doesnāt mean I donāt careāit just means I need to be realistic about what I can give right now and make sure Iām not spreading myself too thin.
Iām so incredibly thankful for every family who has trusted me with their children and supported me throughout this journey. I hope that one day, when life settles down a little, Iāll be able to get back to tutoring. For now, Iām choosing to give myself some grace and focus on the season of life Iām in. For those who I have spoke to about trying to tutor this year, I promise to try to find someone who can work with your child. š„¹š
