Moms…we are going to get some things wrong.

I know I have.

I’ve said things I wish I could take back. I’ve reacted when I should have listened. I’ve tried to fix things that weren’t mine to fix. And I’ve spent way too much time replaying those moments afterward, wondering why I didn’t handle them differently.

But here’s what I’m learning…

We are learning as we go too.

Motherhood doesn’t come with a manual. We aren’t going to handle every situation perfectly, and we aren’t supposed to.

The important part is what we do AFTER we realize we got something wrong.

Own it. Apologize. Learn. Change. Grow.

And then…give yourself permission to move forward.

Because guilt doesn’t change yesterday. Beating yourself up doesn’t make you a better mom today.

Growth does.

When we allow ourselves to make mistakes, overcome them, learn from them and actually CHANGE because of them…that is where the true magic happens.

And something I’m reminding myself of right now is this…

God allowed me to open my eyes again today. That means I was given another chance. Another chance to love better. Listen better. Respond differently. Apologize when I need to. Forgive myself. And keep becoming the woman and mom I want to be.

Don’t waste the second chance God gave you today beating yourself up over something you did yesterday.

Learn from it…and keep going. ❤️

Moms… one of the hardest things we do is watch our daughters go through something hard and not immediately jump in to fix it. 💛

We want to protect them. We want to give them the answer. We want to make the hurt go away… but sometimes the most loving thing we can do is be the safe place they come back to.

Listen. Validate. Love her.

Then ask…

“Do you just want me to listen, or are you looking for me to help you come up with a resolution?”

If she wants help, guide her. If she just wants to be heard, let her be heard.

And then trust her enough to try.

Because confidence is not built by removing every hard thing from her path. It is built when she faces something hard and realizes…

“I handled that.”

That is how self-trust grows. That is how confidence grows. 💛

HOW DID WE GET TO SENIOR YEAR? 💔

And somehow we made it to senior year…

I honestly don’t know how we got here so fast.

As we stand at the beginning of their last year of high school, I find myself wishing I could just slow down time a little bit.

Because I know what’s coming.

The last first day of school. The last homecoming. The last season. The last Christmas break. The last spring break. And eventually that last day when they walk out of high school and into whatever comes next.

And I know that’s what we raised them to do.

We raised them to grow up. To become independent. To figure out who they are and what they want their life to look like.

But man… nobody really prepares you for what it feels like when they actually start doing it.

So to every mom of a senior, I think maybe this year our job is just to embrace it.

Take the pictures when they let us.

Show up.
Listen.
Laugh.

Give them a little more space to figure things out.

And soak in the ordinary moments that we probably don’t even realize we’re going to miss.

Because 18 years felt like forever…until suddenly it wasn’t.

Here’s to every mom trying to hold on just a little while also learning how to let go. ❤️

Class of 2027… here we go.

I used to think that if I made my kids feel a little guilty, maybe it would motivate them. ❤️ I would say things like, “After everything we’ve done for you…” or “You’re going to regret this someday,” thinking somehow that would help them see things differently or make a better choice.

But the truth is, it usually did the exact opposite. They would shut down, get defensive, or pull away, and then I would walk away feeling terrible too. I can’t tell you how many times I replayed a conversation in my head thinking, Ugh...I wish I would have said that differently.

I wasn’t trying to hurt them. I was trying to parent them, guide them and help them make good decisions. I just didn’t always have the tools to communicate what I was really feeling. And I think so many of us moms have been there. We love our kids so much that sometimes our fear, frustration or disappointment comes out completely different than we intended.

I still don’t say everything perfectly. I still have moments when I wish I could rewind a conversation and start over. The difference now is that I have tools that help me slow down, respond instead of react, and repair things when I get it wrong. Sometimes it is as simple as going back and saying, That didn’t come out the way I wanted it to. Can I try again? ❤️

That is exactly why I created my What to Say Cheat Sheet for Moms. Because we have ALL walked away from a conversation thinking, I wish I would have said that differently. This gives you simple words and phrases to use during those difficult parenting moments when emotions are high and you know what you want your daughter to understand, but you’re not quite sure how to say it.

Sometimes changing just a few words can completely change the conversation...and the connection. ❤️

Comparison can steal confidence so quickly, especially in sports.

You start noticing her score. Her stats. Her playing time. Her success. Her socials 😬 And before you know it, you’re spending more energy measuring yourself against someone else than focusing on your own game.

I see this happen with female athletes all the time, and I also know how easy it is to fall into that trap.

One of the questions I want athletes to start asking themselves is:

What am I measuring myself against today?

Because you cannot control what another athlete does. You cannot control her score, her talent, her opportunities, her playing time or her success.

But you CAN control your preparation, your effort, your attitude, your response and what you do on the next play.

That is where I want your attention.

Confidence isn’t proving you’re better than someone else. Confidence is learning to trust yourself.

I shared a short video about this today because I think comparison is something almost every athlete struggles with at some point.

If you have a female athlete in your life who is constantly comparing herself to teammates or competitors, send this to her. ❤️

And moms, this is something we can help our daughters with too. We don’t have to convince them they’re better than someone else. We can simply help bring them back to themselves and what they can control.

Stop comparing. Start trusting yourself.

That’s where confidence begins. 💛

I’ve failed as a sports mom more times than I would like to admit. ❤️

There were car rides home when I asked too many questions. Times I tried to fix the mistake before I ever acknowledged how my daughter was feeling. Times I thought I was helping by giving advice, when what she really needed was for me to simply be her mom.

I can look back now and see it so clearly.

I wasn’t trying to put pressure on her. I loved her fiercely and wanted her to succeed. But sometimes my desire to help came out as correcting, questioning, reminding and trying to control the outcome. And I didn’t always realize how that felt on the other side. That is a big part of why I do what I do today.

I have tools now that I didn’t have then. I’ve learned to pause before I respond. To choose **connection before correction.** To listen before trying to fix. To ask, “Do you want me to listen, or do you want help?” And to remember that her performance is not mine to manage.

Am I perfect at it now? Absolutely not. 😂But I’m not that same sports mom anymore either. I’m more aware. I catch myself sooner. I repair when I get it wrong. And I know now that being a great sports mom isn’t about always saying the perfect thing.

It’s about creating a relationship where our daughters know, win or lose, good game or bad game, Mom is still my safe place. ❤️ And this is exactly why I created my L.O.V.E. Framework for Moms. Because I know what it feels like to love your daughter so much, but not always know what to say when emotions are high.

The L.O.V.E. Framework gives moms a simple tool to help you stay calm, support instead of fix, and strengthen the connection with your daughter, especially after mistakes, tough games and those quiet car rides home.

I wish I would have had these tools years ago. So now I want to share them with other moms. ❤️

We don’t need to be perfect moms. We need tools, awareness, a willingness to grow, and enough grace to keep trying.

Have you ever looked back at something you did as a sports parent and thought, “Ohhh...I would handle that so differently now?” ❤️

I just created a new video for you to watch because I think many of us need this reminder, including me.

Sometimes I feel like I am trying to do everything at once. Eat better. Drink more water. Finish my work. Grow my business. Be a good wife. Be a good mom. And still have something left for myself.

But when I focus on everything, I usually end up feeling overwhelmed, distracted, and frustrated with myself. Maybe you can relate. 💛

We do not have to fix everything today.

Choose one priority.
Remove the distractions.
Finish what you started.
Then give yourself credit for the progress.

When we slow down and focus on the next right thing, we become calmer, more present, and more patient with the people we love.

Watch the full video on my YouTube channel. Link in first comment. ❤️

Choose one thing. Stay focused. Give yourself grace. Keep moving forward.

I believe in you.
