October is National Principals Month, and we’re giving a BIG shout-out to our administrators, Ms. McBride and Ms. Greene! 💚🐻

Being a school administrator means juggling approximately 937 things before lunch, solving problems nobody saw coming, supporting staff, cheering on students, and somehow knowing what’s happening in every corner of the building!

Thank you for your leadership, support, and all the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our school running. 🐻

Hello Perrine, RSMS, TFHS, Sawtooth, CRHS, Lincoln, and Harrison Families,

We are currently experiencing a power outage. As a result, we do not have access to our phone system. Our staff members have access to cell phones for emergencies. We have been in contact with Idaho Power, and they anticipate our power to be restored by 11:30. We will let you know as soon as we have additional information. If you have an emergency need to contact your child's school during this time, please contact the district office at 208-733-6900. School will continue as normal at this time.

Our cafeteria crew is at it again!

From perfectly seasoned potatoes (which, at this point, may need their own fan club 🤩) to banana bread displayed so beautifully it deserves its own magazine cover… our cafeteria crew is bringing their A-game EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!

It’s hard to believe, but the first quarter is already wrapping up!

Please note that this coming Friday, October 16, will be an early dismissal day for students.

Report cards will be heading home soon, making this weekend the perfect time to chat with your student about their goals and celebrate their hard work so far this autumn!

Like your child’s brain, their immune system is always learning. Immunizations help teach it to recognize and resist diseases—so your child can stay one step ahead, stay healthy, keep learning in school, and enjoy more time playing.

To make things easy for parents, South Central Public Health is pleased to offer convenient flu immunizations during school hours. This helps reduce the need for parents to take time off work, children to miss class, or families to make an extra trip for their child’s immunizations.

When you receive your registration form, please complete all sections, including your insurance information. If your child does not have health insurance, please contact the South Central Public Health office and their staff can help you make arrangements for your child to receive the immunizations they need.

NOTES: No child (18 yrs and younger) will be denied a vaccine due to lack of insurance or an inability to pay.

Vaccine offered to students is the FluMist nasal spray

*Flu vaccine is not a required vaccine.

Please contact the school office or South Central Public Health if you have any questions.

🧮✨ Math… but make it GLOW! ✨🧮

Who says math has to be done sitting under boring fluorescent lights?! Our middle school mathematicians took things to the next level with Glow-in-the-Dark Math Day in Mrs. Hall's class! 💚💙💜

With the lights down, black lights glowing, and highlighters out, students were solving problems, working together, and proving that math can actually be pretty awesome!

They may have been working in the dark, but these students were definitely lighting up the room with their math skills! 🔢🌟

🔬🌎 Science is happening all over RSMS! 🌎💧

Our middle school science classrooms have been busy learning, experimenting, and getting their hands on some pretty cool concepts!

🏔️ Landforms and Spheres — shaping their understanding of how Earth changes
⚖️ Balance Scales — finding that perfect balance while putting their scientific thinking to work
💧 Water Cycle — following water on its never-ending journey from clouds to Earth and back again!

From mountains to molecules to “Wait…where did that water go?”—our students are putting science into action! 🧪🌧️🌋

We love seeing our Bears learning by doing! 🐻💚
