Calling All Grandparents! We Need Your Wisdom!

Our 2nd Annual Advice from a Grandparent Day is coming up on Monday, September 14, and we’re looking for a few awesome grandparents who are willing to share their wisdom with our students!

Do you have advice about:
💬 Life?
❤️ Relationships?
📱 Surviving the teen years?
💰 Choosing a career path?
😬 Making questionable decisions?
🍪 Why everything was better “back in your day”?

We want to hear it all! 😂

Our grandparents can bring the funny, serious, heartfelt, or even slightly snarky advice. Basically, if you’ve lived long enough to say, “Trust me, I’ve learned this the hard way,” you qualify. 😉

Flashback Friday! (or maybe Freaky Friday?)📸😷

August 28, 2020… when masks were part of the teacher dress code, hand sanitizer was basically a food group, and we all thought we’d be “back to normal” any minute. 😂

Looking back at this picture of all the teachers masked up, we were told to, “Smile for the picture!” while thinking, “Can you even SEE our smiles?”

What a wild chapter in history!

🧼✨ Things got a little… GLOWY in Family & Consumer Science! ✨🧼

Students in Mrs. Hurley’s Family & Consumer Science classes learned about the importance of proper handwashing—and got some pretty convincing evidence that a quick rinse and a “good enough” scrub might not cut it! 😂

Students used glow powder to see what was hiding on their hands, washed up, and then checked again under the glow light. Let’s just say… some hands passed the test, and some needed a little more convincing! 👀👐

It was a fun, hands-on reminder that soap + water + actually scrubbing = clean hands! 🫧

Who knew handwashing could be this illuminating? ✨

We are just a few days away from the official start of the 2026–2027 school year. Get those backpacks packed, outfits picked out, and alarms set. We can't wait to see all of our TFSD students back in the classrooms next week!
