This has been a year in the making. I've had a long time to consider my failure from my last attempt. That failure has made me stronger, and more determined. I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that I've got the best companion for this trip I could have. We leave with the sunrise in Oscoda, on August 1st, and we hope to finish hand in hand, walking into the waters of Lake Michigan at Empire.

STICK WEAVING WORKSHOP:

For those attending the Winter Camping Symposium this year, I will be holding a workshop on traditional stick weaving, in which we will use wooden needles to pull the warp through the weft, in order to create straps, tumplines, or belts. Cost is $10 to cover materials. I still have a few spots left, and those interested should contact me at [email protected] to reserve a spot.
