To our Wonderful Daycare Parents and the Colbert Heights Community:

Colbert Heights Baptist Daycare has served the Colbert Heights community and the Shoals area for over 30 years. In that time, we have faced numerous challenges and have always been able to overcome them to offer quality childcare at competitive rates. However, in the current economic climate, it is becoming increasingly difficult to do so. Because of these challenges, I regret to inform you that the board of directors and the FBCCH Deacon body has voted to close the daycare.

It is never a convenient time for families to find a new childcare provider, but we have tried to minimize the hardship by closing after the school year ends and providing six weeks notice before closure. We are also taking care of our employees beyond the closing date to help them as they find new employment.

Our current DHR license expires on June 28, 2024, and since we will not apply for re-licensure, June 28 will be our last day of operation.

We are grateful for the dozens of employees who have worked so hard over the years, and for the hundreds of families who have trusted us to love and care for their children.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! We want to start by saying thank you to our wonderful teachers and staff here at CHBD who love on each child like their own. We also want to say a huge thank you to the parents and community members who treated our staff so well last week. We were treated to breakfast, lunch, cupcakes, candy, snacks, candles, too many goodies to name. To all those who took the time to make our week special, thank you. 💓
