I'm honored to share that I'm one of only four academic leaders at The University of Alabama selected to participate in the 2026-2027 SEC Academic Leadership Development Program.

I'm grateful to my Dean at the Capstone College of Nursing for supporting me in this endeavor as well as the Office of Academia Affairs for investing in my growth. I look forward to sharpening my leadership skills and growing my leadership network cross the SEC.

This opportunity is especially meaningful to me because it will provide me with the knowledge and competencies necessary to strategically contribute to President Mohler's vision of a Future Ready Flagship at the University FOR Alabama.

What an incredible time we had co-hosting a listening session with the National Institute of Nursing Research . I, alongside the other regional nursing research society Presidents facilitated a strategic planning listening session for early career scientist.

As the NINR prepares its strategic plan, it is important to listen to diverse perspectives across the spectrum of Nursing Science. I thank Dr. Ackling, Director of NINR, and her entire team for the collaborative approach implemented throughout this process. Thank you also to more than 200 early career scientist who joined us and willingly shared their recommendations.

I look forward to seeing the end result as we forge ahead with strengthening Nursing Research around the world.

Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to represent my Dean of the Capstone College of Nursing at the fall State of Alabama Association of Colleges of Nursing meeting heldatAuburnUniversity. My colleague Dr Amy Davis Lee was also in attendance.

Addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the profession today is a workforce development priority. Such great work being done in our state!

Hello Wednesday!

It's that time of the year! To friends who have recently joined us, every January and August I take a social media sabbatical.
