We had a BUSY day yesterday! Our Program Coordinator and five of our students (Surjevon, Jeremy, Destini, Gracie, and Jr) were invited by faculty members to share their testimonies and program information to a few classes on campus. 📣 ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 Please join me in welcoming our two new student assistants to the Project Rebound team here at Stan State! They just started this week and hit the ground running! They are exceeding expectations and we couldn’t be more happier to have them be a part of the team.

SURJEVON is a Business Administration student and scheduled to graduate this May. His attention to detail and follow up skills are amazing!

DESTINI is a Sociology student and will be graduating this summer. Her passion and drive for social work is extremely admirable.

At the Cal State L.A. Project Rebound Symposium, we had the opportunity to meet FRANKY CARRILLO. Not only did we get to meet him, we had the chance to hear him share his amazing testimony.

Mr. Carrillo was wrongfully convicted and served over 20 years in prison. There is a documentary of the wrongful conviction available on Netflix.

Mr. Carrillo is now running for State Assembly, striving to make a change within the carceral system.

We just returned from another amazing conference. We had the opportunity to attend the Project Rebound 2nd Annual Symposium at Cal State L.A.

Our Program Coordinator, Danica Bravo, had the opportunity to speak on Navigating the Roadmap to a Successful Reintegration. Additionally, she was asked to be one of the three judges for the Rising Scholars Challenge which, all three presentations were amazing!!👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽

Lastly, we were able to support three of our Rebound students to attend this conference and they had the opportunity to network with other students and various statewide programs. ✊🏽

We are here in Atlanta attending the 13th National Conference on Higher Education in Prison.

Brought 2 students with me, Jamel and Jeremy. Jamel served 19 years in prison and Jeremy served 17 years in prison. Both, just got out this last May. Both, have never been to a conference. Both, are very excited to be here!!
