Today we remember the brave souls who gave everything for people they would never meet. Because of their sacrifice, we get ordinary moments that are actually extraordinary… backyard laughter, family dinners, freedom-filled mornings, and one more chance to love the people around us.

May we never take lightly the price that was paid for the life we get to live.
Freedom is not free, and neither is the legacy of courage left behind by those we honor today.

There is something sacred about sitting with people in their final days. When you walk closely with families through hospice journeys, your perspective on life changes forever. You learn what really matters. You listen differently. You love differently. And you realize just how precious and fragile every single day truly is.

One moment I will never forget was with the sweetest little lady during some of her final moments. As we sat together sharing memories and last words, she looked at me and said, “I should have taken that ballet class I always wanted to take. I really did love tutus!”

Oh, she was precious. And honestly, I think about those words often.

She taught me so much, not only in how she lived, but in what she realized at the end of her life. It was such a gentle reminder that life is short. Every moment is a gift.

So here is a reminder today from my friend:

Wear the tutu.
Take the class.
Laugh too loud.
Love people deeply.
Be the person who makes the room feel softer.

And if you happen to look a little ridiculous doing it?
Even better.

There are superheroes… and then there are the Real Okie Superheroes - ROS!

What this incredible team does goes so far beyond costumes and capes. They bring joy, laughter, comfort, hope, and unforgettable moments to children and families walking through some really hard days. The smiles, the giggles, the hugs, the breakthroughs, and the stories happen because this amazing group shows up with hearts as big as their superhero personalities.

We treasure our Lisa Bain Ministries partnership with the Real Okie Superheroes and love seeing the joy they bring everywhere they go. Yesterday, some very special kids received our new stuffed pink Mabel Joy pups delivered by a superhero, and honestly… it just does not get better than that.

Watching a child light up when a superhero walks through the door is something you never forget. These heroes bless all ages and remind us that kindness, imagination, joy, and love still change lives in beautiful ways.
