Hello Families! 🌟

We are excited about our upcoming field trips and classroom activities! To keep all our students safe, Tulsa Public Schools requires a completed volunteer application and background check for any parent or guardian who wants to:

Chaperone or attend field trips

Volunteer inside the classroom or assist with small groups

Work directly with students during school events

How to get cleared:

Complete the online volunteer form and background check request.

Once approved by the district, you will be cleared to join us!

Note: Background checks can take a few days to process, so please submit your form as soon as possible if you plan to join us for upcoming trips.

Dear Greenwood Families,

As we prepare for the school year, we wanted to share a quick update regarding student attire and daily essentials:

School Uniforms: Uniforms are welcomed but not required this year. If students choose not to wear a uniform, please ensure their clothing is school-appropriate (no holes, explicit graphics, or offensive language).

Backup Clothes: We require all scholars to keep a complete change of clothes (including undergarments) in their locker at all times. Even if your scholar is fully potty-trained, unexpected spills or accidents can happen. If an accident occurs and extra clothes are not available in their locker, a parent or guardian will be called to bring a replacement set.

Mientras nos preparamos para el nuevo año escolar, queremos compartir una breve actualización con respecto a la vestimenta de los estudiantes y los artículos diarios esenciales:

Uniformes escolares: Los uniformes son bienvenidos, pero no son obligatorios este año. Si los estudiantes eligen no usar uniforme, por favor asegúrese de que su ropa sea adecuada para la escuela (sin agujeros/roturas ni estampados explícitos u ofensivos).

Ropa de repuesto: Requerimos que todos los estudiantes mantengan un cambio completo de ropa (incluida ropa interior) en su casillero (locker) en todo momento. Incluso si su estudiante ya va al baño de manera independiente, pueden ocurrir derrames o accidentes inesperados. Si ocurre un accidente y no hay ropa de repuesto en su casillero, se llamará a un padre o tutor para que traiga un cambio de ropa.

I hope you’ve all enjoyed a fantastic summer! As we prepare for a new school year, I’m thrilled to welcome our new students and reconnect with our returning scholars.

Don’t miss out on our upcoming events that are essential for a smooth transition back to school:

- **PreK/Kinder Orientation**: August 13th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- **Back to School / Meet the Teacher** for all other grades: August 17th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM

These events are great opportunities to meet teachers, ask questions, and get excited about the year ahead! Please check the attached flyers for additional details.

We have two big events and a very important picture day coming up:

1️⃣ THURSDAY (April 9): Literacy Family Night! 📚 Come out from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM for a great time with the family.
2️⃣ FRIDAY (April 10): Jumping into Spring! 🌷 Join us at the PRC for our HUB event starting at 5:00 PM.

📸 PICTURE DAY REMINDER (Friday, April 10):

Graduation Portraits: Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 5th Grade.

Group Photos: Student Council, ChangeMakers, Global Gardens, and Debate.

💰 PAYMENT: StrawBridge Photo Company will be on-site. All payments must be turned in by Friday. Please note: No money can be accepted after the photographers leave!

Attention Greenwood Leadership Academy Families! Due to the severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings predicted for Tulsa tomorrow, April 3rd, we are moving the Jumping Into Spring Festival to next week to keep our community safe.

🗓 NEW DATE: Friday, April 10, 2026 ⏰ TIME: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

📍 LOCATION: Parent Resource Center (525 E 46th St N.) Come out for a night of FREE FOOD, GAMES, FACE PAINTING, AND PRIZES! This is a wonderful collaboration between Celia Clinton, Anderson, John Hope Franklin, Springdale, and GLA. Please stay weather-aware tomorrow and stay safe, Tulsa!
