Learning Biomedical Science by Doing!

Our PLTW Biomedical Science students have been taking their learning beyond the textbook and into hands-on investigations!

Human Body Systems – Bone Modeling
Students built 3D paper bone models using Origami Organelles, exploring the internal structure of bones, tissue layers, and blood vessel networks. This creative activity helped students visualize how the human body is organized at the microscopic level.

DNA Modeling Activity
Students used molecular model kits to build and explore the structure of DNA. By modeling nucleotides and base pairing, they developed a visual understanding of the DNA double helix and how genetic information is organized.

DNA Extraction Investigation
Our PLTW Principles of Biomedical Science students also participated in a hands-on DNA investigation, using laboratory techniques to extract and examine DNA. The activity gave students an opportunity to connect classroom concepts to real-world biomedical science and biotechnology.

These experiences allow our students to learn, build, investigate, and make connections to the real world, one experiment at a time!

A Wonderful Parent Academic Nights at Dove Science Academy High School Tulsa.

Thank you to all of our amazing parents who joined us for 9th-10th & 11th -12th Grades Parent Academic Night! We had a great evening filled with a delicious meal, helpful information, meaningful conversations, and lots of questions.

We talked about graduation requirements, high school programs, scholarships, after-school clubs, college planning, and more. Most importantly, it was a great opportunity to connect with our families and support our students together.

Day 2 was another exciting day full of college exploration, learning, and new experiences!

Raptors explored The University of Texas at Austin, getting a glimpse of campus life and learning more about the opportunities available to college students.

Our students also had the chance to visit the Apple Austin Campus and experience a little bit of the innovation and technology that Austin is known for.

Dove Raptors Texas College Exploration Trip — Day 1!

What an exciting start to our Texas College Exploration Trip! Our Raptors kicked off Day 1 with an informative campus tour at Rice University, getting a closer look at college life, academics, and opportunities on campus.

Then, we headed to NASA Space Center Houston for an unforgettable experience exploring the history and future of space exploration.

A day full of learning, exploration, and new possibilities!

Our Dove Science Academy Girls & Boys Soccer Club put in the work! After a hot and challenging conditioning session, our athletes came together to recognize and celebrate everyone’s hard work and effort.

It’s not always easy, but great teams are built through discipline, commitment, and supporting one another.
