Happy Lunar New Year, friends! May we all have a prosperous and luck filled year of the horse!

My oldest is VERY excited to pass out hongbao (red envelopes) to his classmates tomorrow and share some picture books with them! He’s even more excited about our city’s Lunar New Year celebration happening this weekend and getting to show his baby brother all the lion dancers ☺️

OkMEA Winter Conference 2026 🎶

Woooo-eeeee. What a ride! My first winter conference as Elementary VP is officially complete. Even though it was cut short by a winter weather event I soaked up every magical musical moment we did get!

was an absolute JOY as our elementary headliner and I know all of my fellow Oklahomies (myself included) were fangirling so hard! We also had wonderful sessions with and , danced the night away with and Sandy Knudson, and ended our conference with the incredible Children’s All State concert!

While I know we are all sad to have missed out on the Friday and Saturday sessions and concerts, I’m so happy everyone made it home safely before the weather came sweeping through the plains.

I’m so thankful to have been trusted to be your Elementary VP, Oklahoma, and can’t wait to plan another year full of amazing presenters and provide opportunities to learn and grow together to be the best educators we can be for our students who deserve the world!

Hi friends!!!!! ☺️ I truly didn’t mean to fall off the face of teachergram last year but life happens 🤪

Our sweet baby boy joined us in July and we’ve been soaking up all the snuggles ever since. My oldest has been the best big brother ever and we’ve loved every moment together so far.

I’m still on maternity leave but plan on dipping my toes back in on here! If you’ve sent me DM’s, asked questions in my comments, or emailed me I’m going to slowly start working my way through them and responding!

Thank you so much for your understanding and for everyone that’s reached out making sure I’m okay! Y’all are the sweetest and I’m so thankful for this musical community ❤️

If you saw my stories a few days ago… I hinted at a pretty good reason why I’d been strangely quiet on here. Well here it is y’all! Your girl has been SICK AS A DOG the entire first trimester of this pregnancy but I’m finally seeing the light at the beginning of the second trimester tunnel and just so ready to not be hiding it anymore 😂

Maxwell is super excited to FINALLY be a big brother and we are all pretty excited to have another baby around here ❤️

Now that I’m finally starting to feel normal… I have a bunch of fun content planned for the next few months so make sure to check in on here from time to time ☺️🎶

OkMEA Winter Conference 🎶

Now that I’m home and had a 4 hr nap… time to post about OkMEA!

What a FUN 4 days it’s been. I can now check off presenting at a state MEA conference ✅ and now officially announce that I’m the new Elementary VP for 🎉 which means I get to invite all the coolest people to come present in Oklahoma 😉 we shall call this my gold badge era hahaha

I love seeing all the pics and videos from everyone’s MEA conferences in this season so had to share mine as well even though I took ZERO pics/video. Every single one of these pics was sent to me by someone else 😅 shoutout to , .mrs.hooten , and for the pics in this post.

Here’s to another fabulous winter conference and can’t wait for the next one! 🎶

(also peep my little guy in the middle who got to come crash music and movement today because he’s still on fall break 🥹 he was singing the song the entire time even when he got overwhelmed with the tempo and kept saying “I love this song!!!!”)

- Showing the Mel-O-Toons cartoon story of Peer Gynt (my students remember it every year and beg for it as soon as my Meet The Composer slide with Edvard Grieg pops up 😂)

TXAEYC 2024 🎶

Had SO much fun presenting at the TXAEYC Annual Conference! There’s nothing more amazing than getting to share what I love with other teachers.

Thank you so much to all the early childhood teachers who embraced my crazy and went all in during my movement session today! It was a 200+ person PAR-TAY! 🥳

And special shout out to for having me! I even got to catch up with one of my best friends last night over dinner and ice cream (without our kids! It was amazing!!!!! 🤣) and see one of my college friends KILLING it in his career with TXAEYC! ❤️

Now to go unpack and sleep because oof that late afternoon traffic getting outta Dallas is no joke 😮‍💨

Had so much fun spending the day with a local district getting them pumped up for the new school year!

We sang, we danced, we read books, we played instruments, and we worked out our thighs much more than I think they were prepared for 😂

Added bonus that one of my sweet friends teaches in that district! 🎶

Is there anything more fun than teaching music teachers? lol all the fun and none of the classroom management 😉
