Mixing UV reactive pigment powder and glaze, the children were curious what the outcome would be after firing their test tiles. Amazed by the way it reacted to black light before firing, it was quite the bummer when we returned to find that our experiment did not turn out as we had hoped. Even though the result wasn’t what we expected, it sparked new questions and ideas for what to try next.

Bathed in the soft glow of ultraviolet light, our young toddlers eagerly approached the intriguing, floating neon wiffle balls. Suspended in mid-air, they couldn’t help but wonder: How are these colorful orbs staying afloat? What happens if we touch them? Will they move? And most curiously, can we pull out the neon paper glowing from within? Their wide eyes sparkled with curiosity as each child reached out to explore the mystery before them.
