About the Teacher:

Tatyana Lantos was born in Odessa, Ukraine. At the age of 5 she began her musical education at the Stolyarsky School of Music in Odessa, a school for gifted students that is also the leading specialized musical institution for elementary and secondary school-aged musicians in Ukraine. Tatyana gave her first solo recital at age 7 and later participated in numerous piano competitions and concerts. In 1995 she graduated from the leading music conservatory in Ukraine, Odessa State Music Conservatory, with a Master’s Degree in Music, majoring in piano performance and education. Tatyana mastered and perfected her performance skills and extensive knowledge in child psychology, pedagogy, and piano teaching techniques. Tatyana also performed in numerous recitals and solo concerts, accompanied the local symphonic and chamber orchestras, and joined ensembles with musicians and conductors. Tatyana became a winner of many competitions during her studies. In 1999 Tatyana moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and in 2000 became a music professor at TCC (Tulsa Community College). As an Adjunct Piano Professor, she teaches individual and group classes for students of all levels, as well as music history classes. Her responsibilities include developing a custom curriculum and achievement goals for each of her students, and preparing them for solo recitals, jury finals, and theory writing tests. In 2005 Tatyana joined the Barthelmes Music Conservatory, where she teaches individual piano lessons and group ensembles. Tatyana also mentors the teaching curriculum, teaches master piano classes, shares her unique instruction methods with the conservatory’s faculty, and performs at seasonal faculty recitals for students, parents, and the public. In 2011 Tatyana became Head of Piano Department and one of the leading Master Faculty piano instructors at the conservatory. Many of Tatyana’s students have become winners of various competitions and some professional teachers and performers. Tatyana genuinely enjoys her life’s calling to educate students in becoming talented performing musicians, so that they may attain the highest artistic standards and become future leaders in their professions. Her supportive and charming personality offer talented piano students the best instruction available today, which is evidenced by consistent positive reviews from students and colleagues, as well as her large and growing clientele.
