Kearns & West's Janet Thomson facilitated the first BOEM/California interagency renewable energy task force meeting yesterday. The meeting brought together the state, federal, and tribal governments starting to work together to identify appropriate areas for wind energy off the California coast.

Anna West Honored with “Women with Hydro Vision” Award.
Kearns & West Principal and Co-Founder Anna West was one of 10 honored at the annual HydroVision International Conference in Minneapolis, Minn. Anna was recognized by her peers for her nearly 20 years of pioneering work in the hydropower sector, including leading national dialogues on regulatory process improvements, facilitating numerous complex, multi-year hydropower relicensing settlement agreements, and working with innovators to conduct stakeholder outreach and policy refinements for the marine hydrokinetic sector. Anna received the 2016 Women with Hydro Vision Award for Facilitation and Stakeholder Engagement.

Last night, nearly 90 community members came out to the first workshop for the Envision the Heart of Mission Viejo project. A Kearns & West team led by Vice President Joan Isaacson, partnering with SWA urban designers, collected input to inform the next chapter of the city’s core.
