Hispanic Linguistics Symposium 2025

November 15th we wrapped up the final day of HLS 2025 with a busy program from start to finish.

The morning began with the last round of colloquia and workshops, followed by a full slate of oral presentations showcasing ongoing research across a wide range of areas.

We were honored to have a final plenary by Dr. Rena Torres Cacoullos, and to close the day with a very special screening of the sociolinguistic documentary “Vozes das Margens”, directed by our very own Dr. Ana M. Carvalho, truly the cherry on top!

Day 2 of HLS 2025 (one week later!)
From three incredible and varied plenaries (Dr. Antonio Fábregas, Dr. Nicole Tracy-Ventura, and Dr. Annie Tremblay) to a full day of intriguing presentations, we kept the momentum strong. We closed the evening with a beautiful dinner a cielo abierto on the U of Arizona campus, the perfect way to continue the conversations and community-building. 🌵🤍

November 13 we kicked off HLS 2025! 🌵

Registration buzzed with energy, colleagues caught up over breakfast, and attendees mapped out their sessions. We started off the morning with multiple colloquia and workshops, followed by a full day of great presentations and a brilliant first plenary from Dr. Tania Leal. Day 1 closed with an engaging poster session.
