Our educators Grijalva Elementary School are digging into meaningful learning, collaborating with one another, and strengthening instructional practices to better support our students.

On August 18, a group of our dedicated teachers and Curriculum Support Providers (CSPs) participated in our Literacy Framework Train-the-Trainer session.

Together, they deepened their understanding of effective, evidence-based literacy practices and explored how our district’s Literacy Framework supports strong instruction for all students. Now, they will take this learning back to their school sites, sharing strategies, supporting colleagues, and helping strengthen literacy practices across our district.

We are grateful for their leadership and commitment to growing our collective capacity.

Over the last two days, our Curriculum & Instruction Division came together to reset, reconnect, and establish our priorities for the 2026–2027 school year!

We grounded our work in shared values, trust, clarity, and our Triple Crown priorities, then moved from reflection to action, developing goals, success indicators, and identifying the cross-team partnerships necessary to support our schools and students.

One thing became very clear: our work is interconnected, our responsibility is shared, and student success is at the center of it all.

Proud of this incredible team and excited to turn our commitments into action!

Today, more than 2,500 TUSD Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) educators participated in Professional Learning Day at Innovation Tech, Palo Verde, Sabino, Pueblo, and Catalina high schools!

An event of this magnitude takes an incredible team. A heartfelt thank-you to our Curriculum and Instruction team for the planning, coordination, problem-solving, and countless adjustments behind the scenes. We are also grateful to our facilitators, trainers, school staff, administrators, and Food Services team for making the day possible.

Thank you to everyone who worked together to create a meaningful day of learning for our educators and, ultimately, our students!

Our amazing Professional Learning team welcomed back our Curriculum Support Providers (CSPs) and instructional coaches! Their energy, expertise, and commitment to supporting high-quality teaching and learning were evident throughout the day. Our CSPs are ready to tackle the 2026–2027 academic year and make a meaningful impact across TUSD!

Today, TUSD’s amazing New Teacher Mentor Program welcomed more than 300 new teachers to our district! 🍎

Over the next three days, they will participate in professional learning designed to prepare, support, and inspire them as they begin their journey with TUSD. Our principals and district staff gave them an energetic welcome this morning, helping set the tone for an incredible new academic year.

We are excited to welcome our newest educators to the TUSD family!
