Sometimes you just gotta change it up! Instead of the usual sax & guitar duos at my steady gigs this week, I decided to bring in fabulous pianist Murray Low of Santa Cruz. We had a blast last night playing popular jazz standards plus some contemporary jazz favorites (including the music of Steely Dan and Stevie Wonder!) at Moss Beach Distillery.
Can't wait to perform an evening of bossa novas and Latin jazz together with Murray tomorrow night. This style of music is his specialty! Swing by La Costanera in the Half Moon Bay harbor for some live music, pisco sours and delicious Peruvian food.

Congratulations to Willow Fischer, winner of my Music Student Raffle Grand Prize for Spring Session 2025. Throughout the 12-week session, students earn raffle tickets for each completed Practice Log. Raffle Winner chooses from a selection of Play-Along Books. These Classic Rock songs seem easy to play, and they will sound really cool on bass clarinet!
Willow is inspired by her older brother, so she decided to follow in his footsteps by learning to play bass clarinet. She began school band last fall at the beginning of 6th grade, and Band soon became her favorite class. This spring after just 12 weeks of private lessons, she greatly improved her posture, hand position, dynamics and rhythm reading. English/Language Arts is Willow's second favorite class, and she also loves to draw.

Lita and her two grandchildren know all of the songs from these popular Disney films!
About to turn 72, Lita decided to pick up the flute again after not playing for 6 or 7 years. She practices way more than the average student, and the improvement in her flute technique has been impressive. Lita is very enthusiastic and motivated!
In addition to practicing flute, Lita enjoys hiking, running and biking every day.
