I’ve been working with people just like you for many years.

When it comes to health goals around sugar and nutrition, here’s what I’m seeing.

Every month, every week that you wait to deal with your blood sugar and your cravings, you quietly lose something.

Not in a dramatic way. Not all at once.

You lose an afternoon where you could’ve been sharp in a meeting, but weren’t. You lose a conversation where you wanted to be fully present, but your brain was somewhere else. You lose that quiet confidence you used to have… the kind that felt effortless before the fatigue and cravings started running the show.

And you, me, we all call it “getting older.”

Here’s what I’ve seen, working with people in their 40s and 50s for years now.

Fatigue, cravings, brain fog, weight that won’t budge… in my experience, these are so often tied to blood sugar instability and cortisol disruption, not just “getting older.” And both of those things can respond to the right support.

The cost of waiting is real. It’s just quiet enough that most people don’t add it up until they’re looking back on years of it.

If you’re 50 or older and this sounds like your in the last year, or your last several… this is the conversation worth having.

Drop a comment below or send me a message. I want to hear where you’re at right now.

“What the heck am I supposed to eat??” might be the most common question when you’ve tried all of the diets and fads and detoxes.

You know you have to do something because you’re so fed up with your clothes not fitting or your Dr and family are genuinely concerned about your health.

Your doctor has mentioned things like insulin resistance, or metabolic health and prediabetes

But no matter what you’ve tried or other people have suggested you still keep having the dang cravings

Because of all the conflicting advice over social media, and from what your aunt Gladys told you your head is spinning and you don’t know which way to turn.

If you want some ideas about what the heck to eat for breakfast for lunch for dinner and or snack snacks that will actually help you balance blood sugar, and keep cravings away

Shoot me a DM if you’d like to chat for a few minutes and be sure to hit follow for more helpful ideas.

💜 It was never about the hang.

25 seconds today. Two sets. A few weeks ago I couldn’t do this at all.

And here’s the thing I keep thinking about…it’s not really about the hang itself. Just like sugar freedom was never really about vanquishing the craving itself.

The freedom is what you build by putting in the work. The discipline to hang a little longer when your grip wants to quit. The discipline to say no to the sweet when a craving hits. And the discipline to get back on the horse when you give in anyway, or skip a workout, because that’s just life.

Sometimes you choose the sweet food on purpose, and that’s fine too. It only becomes a problem when the habit is hurting your health, or skipping movement is making it harder to feel good in your clothes.

That’s where the discipline pays off. Better sleep. More energy. Clothes that fit the way you want them to. A body that can keep up with the life you actually want to live. Showing up fully for the people you love instead of running on empty.

The dead hang is just one small practice. Choosing well around sugar is another. Different habits, same freedom… built one rep and one choice at a time.

Progress isn’t about being perfect at any one thing. It’s about showing up again tomorrow.

What’s one small practice you’re building right now? Tell me below 👇

Day 3 of dead hangs and I already went from 10 seconds to 20 seconds. 💜
Keep reading…

Second set today, I hit 20 seconds. This first First set was actually only 18. Small jump, but it’s proof that showing up again and again is what actually moves the needle.

While I was hanging on, I had Andrew Huberman, Ph.D. playing in the background talking about practice and slowly getting better… about breathing to calm the nervous system before bed if you exercise at night … and importantly, about not expecting perfection from yourself, just doing the best you can that day.

That’s the whole philosophy behind my CAT25 sugar reset too. You don’t wake up one day with zero cravings. You practice. You breathe through the hard moments. You give yourself grace when it’s not perfect.

And somehow, three days in, ten seconds turns into twenty.

Progress isn’t a straight line. It’s just showing up again.

Hi, I’m Mary Kay Irving 💜

I help busy men and women stop the sugar cravings and balance their blood sugar so they can be their best selves… inside and out.

I went to bed a little later than usual last night. And I still got a solid 7 to 8 hours of sleep.

I’m telling you this because you don’t have to do everything perfectly to feel good. You just have to do the next right thing, even if the day didn’t go as planned.

For me, that meant making sure I still got 7 to 8 hours of sleep because we know that less sleep pours fuel on the flames of cravings.

Here’s the part nobody talks about enough. Those pesky cravings do more than make you want a snack. They chip away at your self-esteem and leave you wondering what you’re doing wrong. They pound away at your energy, add to your fatigue, and drag your mood down with them.

You are not broken. You are not lacking willpower. Your blood sugar is just asking for some support.

And the good news is there are simple steps to ease the cravings and bring your blood sugar back into balance.

If you want more guidance, follow along here or DM me and let’s talk about how we can work together.
