The Zuckerman Family Center(ZFC) Student Interns have been very busy delivering health & wellness lessons in three of our ZFC Programs; Healthy Schools Tucson, Healthy Habits Tucson and HPS Community Health & Wellness Service Learning course. Middle school & Elementary Students are learning the importance of eating nutritional foods and being physically active to feel good and how to adopt healthy lifestyle habits.

Wellness Wonder Day was a great event last Saturday at HSIB. The University of Arizona Intern Students shared ways to stay hydrated and how to limit added sugar in sweetened beverages.

Are you 55+ and older and would like to help teach children about the importance of being active and eating healthy! Then we would love you to join us! We are looking for volunteers on Thursday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:45 pm. Please contact Sabrina Plattner at [email protected] for more information.

Our Center’s Healthy 2BMe camp is underway and in its 3rd session at the Pascua Yaqui Boys & Girls Clubhouse! Campers are having a blast by learning the importance of establishing healthy a lifestyle by eating nutritious foods, hydrating, being physically active every day, avoiding smoking and va**ng, sun safety and hygiene. We are so proud of our University of Arizona College of Public Health Internship students who are doing a fantastic job leading the camp!

So proud of this work my colleague, Annemarie Medina, MBA and I put together with the collaboration and partnership of the faculty and staff at Rivera Elementary School in Tucson, AZ. We hope that all schools have a the opportunity to have access to a Zen Den where children and teachers can relax and relieve stress. click below and read the update too!
