This academic year, the Shular Institute, in collaboration with Dekalb County CTAE of the DeKalb County School District, proudly launched the "Battle of the Brigades" restaurant takeover initiative. This pioneering program involved eight CTAE schools, each taking over the Shular Institute's restaurant, FARMED, to showcase their unique restaurant concepts.

Students were tasked with developing and executing a complete restaurant experience — from concept and menu design to hosting actual brunch services. This hands-on initiative not only provided invaluable real-world experience but also supported our local educational programs, as all proceeds were reinvested into Dekalb County CTAE.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Springer Mountain Farms for their sponsorship and continuous support of culinary education. Their commitment is essential to the success of programs like these.

Winter Enrollment is now open for the Shular Institute!

Enrollment is now open for the January 24th start date, and we want to help you get started.

Here are the steps to apply:

Connect with us. Our admissions advisors are here to help you through the admissions process and answer any questions you have. Apply. 

Once you have talked to one of our advisors you will be ready to apply.  Be sure to gather all required materials, such as your transcripts, test scores, and personal statement.Submit. 

Once you've submitted your application, it will be reviewed by the Chef advisory committee. If you're accepted, you'll receive a letter of acceptance and instructions on how to enroll.Financial aid. 

The Shular Institute offers a variety of financial aid options to help you afford your education. We currently do not offer FAFSA but have great financial aid option. Be sure to apply for financial aid as soon as possible. 

Enrollment is open from September 26th to October 30th, so don't miss out on your chance to become a Shula Institute student!

Fall registration is now open, but before you start class sign up for our Free Enrollment Bootcamp. In this special three-day enrollment camp, you will learn from certified master chef Daryl Shular and our new chef instructors. You will also work alongside your peers who are considering a career in the culinary arts.

Our Summer Student enrollment bootcamp for our Fall 2023 Class Start. Potential students who enroll during the summer bootcamp will receive a $500.00 gift card for continuing educational courses here at The Shular Institute. Those who sign up for the Enrollment Camp will participate in daily cooking activities, experience various cooking demonstrations, and celebrate with family and friends as part of our end-of-enrollment bootcamp celebration.
