2020 Alabama Lions High School Leadership Forum

CANCELED!

After prayerful thought and due consideration, the Alabama Lions High School Leadership Forum Committee announces the cancellation of the 2020 forum that was set for June 19-21. The health and welfare of Alabama’s youth and the current uncertainty as to when Covid-19 guidelines will permit large gatherings were the driving forces behind this decision. ALHSLF requires a lot of planning and substantial up front expenditures so it was necessary from a business standpoint to make a decision early. Additionally, the Committee feels it is our obligation, given the current economy, to support the Lions Clubs who faithfully sponsor delegates. We do not feel it fair to ask our clubs to financially contribute to the forum when so many have already canceled or postponed their annual fundraisers.

To those Lions and Lions Clubs who have already recruited delegates for the 2020 forum, we thank you! You are the reason ALHSLF has steadily grown from small groups of teenagers meeting at Camp Chandler to an operation supporting 200+ high schoolers meeting annually on the campus of Troy University to begin their journey toward becoming leaders in their communities, state, nation and world. Your heart for youth matches ours.

The Committee is endeavoring, by our actions, to uphold the Lions’ motto, “We Serve!” We have tried to consider all available information concerning the ongoing pandemic and we sincerely hope we are serving our delegates, college group leaders, Lion volunteers, and Lions Club sponsors during this unprecedented time in history by the decisions we are making. Our hearts are broken that we will not be spending June doing what we love, but please know that we will be using the extra time over the summer to fine tune our operational model and begin preparations for the 2021 ALHSLF to ensure it will be the best ever!

All registered delegates will be contacted and fees will be refunded. Should you have any questions or need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact:
