Gerald Dial’s service to Alabama, to the National Guard—where he attained the rank of Brigadier General—and to education has made an enormous impact on countless lives. He is a unique leader whose courage, vision and determination have benefited all those he has been privileged to serve. Since his appointment to the Troy University Board of Trustees in 1992, the University has experienced extraordinary growth and progress. His contributions to TROY have been recognized through the naming of a campus building in his honor and the awarding of an honorary doctorate for his lifelong service to the people of Alabama. General Dial is a proven leader whose legacy of service continues to shape this University and our state.

Back-to-back Sun Belt Champions. 🏀🏆
Chancellor Hawkins joined the basketball team in cutting down the net in Trojan Arena on Friday night as TROY claimed its second consecutive Sun Belt Conference title. A championship moment for our student-athletes, coaches and the entire Trojan Family.

Chancellor Hawkins visited The Heritage Foundation headquarters in Washington, D.C., today as a guest of Andrew Olivastro, Chief Advancement Officer and a 2023 TROY Alumnus of the Year. During the visit, Dr. Hawkins also met with Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts.

A year after being asked by the Board of Trustees to delay his retirement, Troy University Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., and the Board have agreed on a retirement date at the end of 2028.
Dr. Hawkins will continue in his role as Chancellor through Dec. 31, 2027. In his final year of service to TROY, Dr. Hawkins will transition to the role of Advisor through the end of 2028.

From Troy to Hanoi, we are Trojans one and all.
Last week, Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., traveled to Vietnam to celebrate commencement ceremonies with Troy University’s partner institutions in Hanoi and Da Nang.
At Vietnam National University, more than 160 graduates proudly received their Troy University degrees—joining a global Trojan family that spans continents.
TROY has offered academic programs in Vietnam since 2004 and made history in 2008 as the first American university to award the baccalaureate degree in Vietnam.
