Women at Rensselaer Mentor Program The Mentor Program invites first year women undergraduates to be paired with a female undergraduate who has already made the transition into Rensselaer.

The Women’s Mentor Program provides community amongst female students at Rensselaer by inviting first-year female undergraduates and first-year transfer students by to be paired with a female peer mentor. Matches may be made by academic major, personal interests, varsity sport, ROTC branch of service, home country, or any other request a mentee may have. Monthly mentor program events provide opportunities to meet other female undergraduates, alumni, faculty and other practicing professionals, and graduate women students. At these events, students network with each other and learn about different majors, minors, how to approach faculty for an undergraduate research project, the advantages of participating in a study abroad program, how to locate a summer internship, and much more. Regular communication between the mentor and first-year student will lead to a smooth transition to campus life.

Women at Rensselaer Mentoring Program (WMP) is a student-led mentoring program that connects first-year women and gender minorities with upper-class mentors. Mentees are placed into small groups with students in similar majors, giving them the opportunity to make friends, ask questions, and receive academic, social, and professional support as they transition to college life.
