The Florida Dept. of Education released the 2024-2025 district and school grades today. We are pleased to announce that Gilchrist County School District received a grade of "A" for the 8th consecutive year, and we are ranked 8th out of 67 Florida districts. Congratulations to our students, teachers, and staff!! We applaud your hard work and dedication!

Schools will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21st, but due to winter weather advisories for our area, all Gilchrist County schools and the district office will be CLOSED on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2025. All scheduled sports events and extra curricular activities are also canceled for Wednesday.

As everyone prepares for Hurricane Milton, all Gilchrist County schools and the district office will be closed on Wednesday, October 9th and Thursday, October 10th. In addition, all sports and after school activities are cancelled beginning Tuesday, October 8th through Wednesday night.

To prepare for the potential impact of Hurricane Helene, tomorrow, Wed., Sept. 25, will be an early release day with schools dismissing at 1:00 p.m. All after school activities are also canceled tomorrow.

All GCSD schools and the district office will be closed, and all activities canceled on Thursday, Sept. 26 and Friday, Sept. 27.
