Our new District Director, Tree Porter, is already jumping in to meet with local community members. This week, she got to meet with Caitlyn Kerns, Investment Director, and Victoria Calabrese, Marketing & Communications Coordinator, both from the Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce and Doreen Lanc, Executive Director of Cadillac Area Community Foundation.

We are so excited to be able to meet with the Chamber and Community Foundation and talk about our mission to get hands-on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship training into local schools!

Our SpartanNash Pin Pad campaign is still happening, and our JA Northern Michigan team is hearing about the real impact that JA has had on our local community.

During a recent SpartanNash store visit, a former JA student told us that he still has the “Wyoming-Opoly” game his class created years ago. We also connected with an educator who stopped to ask about bringing Junior Achievement into her classroom this school year after talking to our program coordinator, Chris. We're so glad that donations from this campaign will go to facilitate bringing free programming into her third-grade classroom!

That’s what makes this campaign so special. Every pin pad donation helps support JA programs, but the impact goes even further: helping more students experience JA and carry those memories with them for years to come.

Thank you to our SpartanNash partners and everyone who is rounding up or adding a donation at the pin pad to support Junior Achievement!

Our Junior Achievement team has been visiting Family Fare stores across the region to connect with store teams and share more about JA. Thank you to the teams at Manistee, Ludington, and Cadillac Family Fares for welcoming us and helping spread the word. We’re looking forward to visiting even more stores throughout the campaign!

When you shop at participating Family Fare stores, you can support Junior Achievement right at the register. Your donation helps bring hands-on learning experiences to local students and gives young people the skills and confidence they need to plan for their futures.

The next time you’re checking out at a participating SpartanNash store, look for the Junior Achievement donation prompt and consider adding a gift. Every donation helps us reach more students!

Junior Achievement's programs extend far beyond the classroom; take it from Tiffany, a store associate at Martin's Super Markets in Niles!

JA's campaign with SpartanNash is underway today, and when Laura Lutterbeck, COO of our Michigan Great Lakes office, stopped by to talk to the MARTINS team about the fundraiser, Tiffany excitedly recounted having JA in 3rd grade. She said she remembers how much fun she had with the program, even after graduating and starting her career working for SpartanNash!

Donating at the pin pad at your local SpartanNash store helps JA put these life-changing programs in your local classrooms, where students will gain confidence in their futures for years to come. Stop by today!

It's never too early to learn about banking, and in JA BizTown, you can have your very own bank account! When students become BizTown citizens, they open a checking account, deposit checks, use a debit card, and even have the option to open a savings account or use an ATM. These hands-on skills are important for preparing students for their financial futures.

Here's what some of last year's citizens learned about banking!
