This week our 3rd graders at Berkeley and Brookside took the next step in their musical journey - trying out band instruments! Our districtwide band teachers came together to run our “instrument test drive” program in which students get to hold and explore all of the instruments we offer in band in 4th grade.

We hope to see every one of them on our band rosters in the fall- it’s going to be a stellar year and we have some very fun programs and surprises in store that we know will give our music students a great experience. See you next year, 3rd grade musicians! ✌🏻 🎶 🎷 🥁

VPA is beyond grateful for all of the families who support our students and programs at home and in our communities. A very special thanks to PMAG - the Parent Music and Arts Group - which was recognized last night at the June Board of Education meeting. This fabulous group of parent volunteers has been instrumental (no pun intended) in helping this be a successful year in music and theatre at Westwood Regional HS. Between the countless concerts/events, fundraising, supporting our marching band and theater productions, building lobby displays, selling merchandise at our concerts - and being our program’s best cheerleaders, we are so thankful to have them on our team! Special thanks to executive committee members Mrs. Harrahy (president), Mrs. Trammell (treasurer), and Mr. Menz (secretary) for being at the meeting last night to represent! 👏🏻🙏🏼👏🏻🙏🏼👏🏻🎶🎶🎶🎶

Bravo to our JPDC dance company on a wonderful performance and thanks also to our high school volunteers on lights and sound who helped backstage. Even in the arts … it takes a village!

Congratulations to our Band and Choir Seniors on your final concert in Westwood! 🎶❤️

If you’ve been with us since kindergarten, you’ve performed in at least 26 concerts, and that doesn’t even include small ensembles, special events, parade performances, Disney, and so much more along the way.

We are so proud of each and every one of you and hope you will always keep music in your lives. Thank you for sharing your talents and bringing us so much joy. Once a Cardinal musician, always a Cardinal musician! 🎵
