Dear L’After Families,
We wanted to share a friendly reminder about items from home and ask for your partnership in helping us create the best possible experience for all of our students.
We understand that there are times when students may be allowed to bring something from home to school for a specific purpose. However, during L’After, we have found that personal items can sometimes become a distraction or lead to frustration among peers. When this happens, it can make it more difficult for students to stay engaged, participate in activities, and enjoy their time together.
For this reason, we are asking that items from home remain safely in students’ backpacks for the entire L’After program, unless a staff member has specifically given permission for an item to be used.
This expectation is not about taking away something that is important to a child. In fact, we recognize that these items can be very special and meaningful to our students. Keeping them safely in backpacks also helps protect them from being lost, broken, or misplaced, which can be especially difficult for children.
Our goal at L’After is to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where students feel comfortable, connected, and ready to participate. We want everyone to have the opportunity to engage with one another, explore their interests, build friendships, and enjoy the activities we have planned.
We know that these expectations are most successful when families and L’After staff work together. We greatly appreciate your support in talking with your child about keeping personal items safely in their backpack while at L’After. If there is ever a particular item or circumstance you feel we should know about, please reach out to us. We are always happy to work together to find a solution that supports your child.
Thank you for being such an important part of our L’After community and for helping us make L’After a positive, safe, and enjoyable place for everyone!
Take Care,
