I sent out invites to this site to all my friends. For some of you Helping directly may mean just inviting others to be Aware that this a "FUN" raiser to help the campers get to camp. With rising prices and the hardship on some families this may be there only way to have a summer program.

Charlotte County 4-H camps at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox for a week long outdoor experience for youth ages 9-19. Campers ages 9-13 reside in cabins or bunkhouses, take camp classes, and participate in early and late evening programs. Teen counselors are ages 14-19 and have had at least 24 hours of training in core camp curriculum (behavior management, ages and stages of development, leading a class, problem solving, adult/youth partnerships, communication skills, how-tos, etc.) stay in the bunkhouses and cabins with campers acting “in loco parentis” and helping campers to master the art of “taking care of oneself”. Trained adult volunteers attend camp helping with teaching classes, caring for youth, camp safety, and everywhere else they are needed.
