We are so excited to see Ballet Stars On Demand expanding across USD 501 this fall!

Beginning in October, Kansas Ballet will bring this STEAM-focused ballet program to every 1st grade classroom in the district, culminating with a field trip to experience The Nutcracker live at Topeka Performing Arts Center in December. 🩰✨

We are incredibly grateful to ArtsConnect Topeka and the TopArts Grant program for helping us make ballet accessible to more children in our community.

This is exactly what our outreach mission is all about — bringing the arts directly to children and giving them an experience they will remember.

Ballet Stars On Demand is a STEAM-focused classical ballet program designed specifically for local elementary schools. The program has been successfully piloted at Lowman Hill Elementary, Jardine Elementary, SENT Prep Academy, and Boys & Girls Club of Topeka. The final pilot will take place at Scott Duel Language in the spring of 2026. In the fall of 2026, Kansas Ballet will partner with USD 501 to bring Ballet Stars On Demand to all 1st grade classrooms in the district. Classroom participation will start in October of 2026. The program will culminate in a grand finale with each classroom enjoying a field trip to watch the Nutcracker ballet live at Topeka Performing Arts Center in December.

Meet our Co-Artistic Directors- First is Erinn Bird!

A native of Topeka, Kansas, Erinn began her pre-professional training at Kansas Ballet Academy. She is a 2020 graduate of the University of Kansas, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Her training includes ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, tap, and jazz. Erinn has performed works by Patrick Suzeau, Jerel Hilding, Enid Smith, and more, as well as performing with the Kansas City based City in Motion Dance Theater. She is currently an educator and choreographer at Kansas Ballet Academy. An avid proponent of strength training for dancers, Erinn is also a certified personal trainer and a certified barre instructor. In 2025, she earned her certificate in Dance Education for Regional Dance America. Erinn believes that live art is an integral part of any community and is honored by the opportunity to share her passion with her hometown.
