● The Present Levels is one of the most important pieces of the IEP. It guides you in writing the rest of the IEP.
● LRE and curriculum do not drive the IEP, the IEP drives the LRE and what curriculum to use.
● Sending home a proposed draft IEP prior to the IEP meeting is collaboration, not predeterminatio

Tom Holland has always been open about his dyslexia, helping to spread awareness around the world.
You can catch the awesome Tom in two of this year’s biggest blockbusters Odyssey Movie and Spider-Man
It's the strangest thing when you walk into a room and have no idea who most of the people are. Let's make sure that the IEP meeting is not the first time that the team all meet. Let's start collaboration well before you walk into that room.

Happy Birthday to the ADA!!!
✨🎂✨
Image description: a commemorative graphic celebrating the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The background is a muted gray-green color with large white text at the top reading, “Happy Birthday to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)!”
Below, a rounded mint-green text box states: “The ADA was signed into law on July 26, 1990 by President George H.W. Bush, who declared, ‘Let the shameful wall of exclusion finally come tumbling down.’ Today, we commemorate the passage of this legislation each Disability Pride Month in July.”
The lower half of the image features a historic photograph of the ADA signing ceremony held outdoors in Washington, D.C. President George H.W. Bush sits at a small desk signing the legislation while disability rights advocates and supporters stand or sit nearby. Two individuals using wheelchairs are prominently positioned on either side of the president, emphasizing the role of the disability community in this landmark moment. In the distance, the Jefferson Memorial is visible, framed by trees and a crowd gathered to witness the event.
Along the right edge of the graphic, the creator’s handle, “,” appears vertically in white text.
Back to School Tip number 3: practice lunch. The cafeteria can be a very overstimulating place, there is noise, smells, food they may have not seen. It can be a lot. Factor that in with the frustration of opening milk cartons, food containers, eating things that they don't know what it is and waiting for help from a grown up who maybe helping others too, well it can all cause issues. Lunch is also a shorter eating time than at home. Practice with your kids carrying a tray to the table, eating under 20 minutes, opening containers bags, etc. At the end, practice cleaning up, putting everything on a tray or into your lunchbox and throwing away neatly. Practicing how to dumping milk water out of a cup helps also as many school have students dump leftover milk.
Back to School Hack #3 Pull up you schools calendar now and to schedule your kids dentist, eye and physicals for the school year. Kids eyes should be checked yearly and often the school exams do not check for astigmatism.
