PIVOT BY D.I.E.A. was created to make portfolio discipline easier to see and understand. Your investments are represented through a living tree, helping you recognize when it may be time to cut, harvest, scout, or pivot instead of making decisions blindly.

We’re at 9 votes now, but let’s keep it moving. Every vote helps PIVOT gain more visibility and brings the idea one step closer to reaching more traders and investors.

Some people see trading as buying and selling.

I see it as decision control under pressure.

Because the market will test your patience.
It will test your ego.
It will test whether you actually have a process.

That is why I built D.I.E.A.

Not to predict everything.

To defend first, inspect honestly, execute with control, and audit afterward.

Today I took a hit.

Honestly, I’ve been taking hits all week.

But if this were three years ago, I would not have just taken a hit — I probably would have lost control.

I would have kept clicking.
Kept forcing.
Kept averaging down with no plan.
Kept trying to turn one bad decision into ten more.

The difference now is I can actually stop and inspect what the real problem is.

That is the part nobody makes attractive.

Discipline is not flashy.
Being defensive is not exciting.
Sitting with your own decisions is uncomfortable.

Especially after you analyzed something, trusted your gut, or believed you saw the opportunity clearly.

But that is where trading gets real.

Not when everything is green.

When pressure shows up and you have to decide whether you are going to protect your capital or let emotion take over.

That is why I wrote Self-Defense for Trading.

Not because I never take hits.

Because I needed a system for what to do when the hits come.

The key to this book is developing operational resilience — the ability to stay disciplined, defensive, and decision-capable while pressure is happening.

Yesterday my portfolio was red and I started questioning everything.

I looked at the trash can.

Then I looked at Self-Defense for Trading.

I was like:

“So you just gonna sit there and defend nothing?”

Then today the portfolio turned green like:

“Hi.”

Nope.

We are not doing toxic relationship investing.

You don’t get one green day and act like we’re back together.

You are still on probation.

Especially NEM and PLTR.

I’m looking at both of you.

Don’t play.

Don’t act like you forgot what you were doing yesterday.

One green day does not erase the group chat.

The lesson is simple:

The market didn’t change my rules.

It changed my mood.

And that’s exactly why I need rules.

Today exposed something important.

The loss itself wasn’t the real issue.

The real issue was the condition I was in when I made the first move.

I was already running late for work. My mind was rushed, my body was moving, and I still checked my account anyway.

That led to an ineffective first tranche.

And I’m not going to lie — my ego wanted to make an impression after publishing a book. 🤣

That’s exactly why discipline matters.

D.I.E.A. is not about pretending you never make mistakes. It’s about catching yourself before one emotional move becomes a bad sequence.

The second tranche was different.

I slowed down, went back to the system, and dedicated it to value buys.

Value buying can look like losing at first — because technically, it is.

You are buying into weakness.
You are buying into the unknown.
You are stepping into red before the market gives you comfort.

That takes training.

It takes time to build the kind of discipline where red does not automatically mean panic.

Sometimes red means danger.

But sometimes red is where value begins.

The difference is whether you entered with emotion — or intention.

That takes training.

You have to teach your mind the difference between losing control and buying controlled weakness.

Today wasn’t pretty.

But it was honest.

And honesty is part of the system.

In D.I.E.A.™, defense starts before the trade.

Before I move money, I need to know where that money belongs.

That’s why I name my accounts Bays.

Bay 1 is my Anchor.
Bay 2 is my Emerging Future.
Bay 3 is income and anchor-quality workers.
Bay 4 is another volatility bay, but in different sectors.
Bay 0 is the Power Plant.

Every bay has a job.
Every ticker is a worker.
Every tranche needs a reason.

Good defense starts with knowing your workers.

That is controlled ex*****on.

We’re 30 minutes out from the opening bell 🔔

In D.I.E.A.™, defense starts before the trade.

It starts with organization.

Your accounts should have names.
Your accounts should have roles.
Your tickers should have jobs.

For my layout, I call them Bays because that language comes from my world.

Bay 1 — Anchor
Bay 2 — Emerging Future
Bay 3 — Income / Anchor-Quality Bay
Bay 4 — Sector Volatility Bay
Bay 0 — Power Plant

You can call them whatever helps you recognize the purpose.

The name is not the point.

The purpose is the point.

Good defense starts with knowing your workers.

Every bay has a job.
Every ticker must earn its position.
Every tranche needs a reason.

After the final bell 🔔, we review the workers.

That is controlled ex*****on.

Start here.

Before the move comes the mindset.

Self-Defense for Trading: The 8 Steps of D.I.E.A. was created for beginners, reactive investors, curious traders, and everyday people who want more structure before making financial moves.

D.I.E.A.™ is the system.

Hands-On Discipline™ is the goal.

The message is simple:

This is your money. Be involved.

And sometimes, the best way for your money to grow is to keep your hands to yourself.
