Toledo Schwaben Verein

Membership is made up of male active and social members only. All income ceased when illness struck.

The Verein was founded on July 14,1884 as the Toledo Schwabischer Unterstutzungs Verein( Schwabian Benevolent Society) to support its active members in sickness and the survivors of its members in case of death. At this time of its founding, the male was the primary breadwinner and employers offered no health or sickness benefits.

Shout out to Mr. Bruce Bartlett, member of the Toledo Schwabisher Unterstutzungers Verein, who sought out our Emma Riggs. Emma pulled the winning 50/50 ticket at last months BockbierFest. Mr Bartlett wanted to share some of his winnings and came to our dance practice last night to meet her! How cool is that?!
