Last year, Marshall STEMM Academy 6th graders took on an important PBL: changing the school mascot from the Indians to an identity that better reflected who we are as a school community.
Students surveyed their peers, gathered feedback, researched possibilities, and narrowed their choices based on what they felt best represented their vision for Marshall STEMM. Ultimately, they chose Marshall STEMM Warriors!
This year, their hard work came to life when the new Warriors logo was officially revealed at Open House. We were thrilled to partner with the Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center to bring the vision to life in our school hallway, with art director, Lorenzo Flores creating the mural.
What started as a student-driven PBL has now become a permanent part of our school’s identity. We are incredibly proud of our students for using their voices to create meaningful change—and we are excited for their first year as the Marshall STEMM Warriors!
