Toledo’s workmen are still required to think Christianly. All of creation is under Christ’s Lordship, even Toledo’s engineers and tradesmen. The workman, through all of the blood and sweat of industrial work, still must reflect on why he works, who he is, and what God requires of him.
Thinking cannot be left to the “scholars.”
Thinking is for all.

What is a Christian Study Center?

Young man, Toledo needs you.
Many would complain and say our men should be working with their hands, which is an honorable vocation. Toledo has a heritage of such workmen.
But the work of the mind is also fitting. It is what drives culture, what runs the world. Men, we need you in all of the work God has given man to do under the sun.

One of our courses is on the Natural Family.
Dr. Allan Carlson’s works have been particularly helpful to modernity. He has been faithful to proclaim the Creation Mandate from Genesis 1:28 when so few have the courage to do so. Most young people don’t know what Scripture, the early Church, or even America’s early leaders have to say about the family, as well as the bearing and raising of children.

What does it mean to think Christianly?
In 1963, Harry Blamires’s book, The Christian Mind, came into print. In its pages, Blamires shakes you. He wakes you up to see you have adopted the world’s way of thinking and have left behind Scripture and the Church.
At Iona, we are offering an atmosphere for Toledoans to think Christianly as Blamires would want.
