The baby blanket…?
Let’s start from the beginning. Last May I started on a simple mosaic knitted baby blanket with butterflies 🦋

IT’s FALL, OCTOBER, COLDER 🍂🍁

You know what that means: sweater weather, but also HAT weather.

Here are four I knitted up for the grandchildren to keep warm 💙🩷💜🧡
The pattern are
“Rawr Beanie” by Deja Joy
“Leafy Newborn Beanie” byJustyna Lorkowska
and for the twins “Bankhead” by Susie Gourlay with some embellishments.

What’s up with all these butterflies???

They are all part of my earlier story; the making of a baby blanket. WHAT, HOW?….
You shall see…

These butterflies were knitted up ( on 1.5/ 2.5mm needles!) in threes: Three while still at home, three while on board of the Queen Mary 2, three while in the UK visiting family and the final three while visiting family in Germany 😀

Have you ever…
kitchener stitched across 141 stitches?? Well, I just did it. It took inserting the needle twiche into each of the two times 141= 282 stitches; a total of 564 in and out, but I did it!!!
Why you may ask. I don’t want to reveal all yet, but I can tell you that I started a blanket from both ends so the motif would flow into the center from each end and now it is stitched together and ready for the next step.

What was I thinking?? 😂
I applied to test knit a hat for Zanete Knits on top of my other projects ( baby blanket, winter hats for the grands and a couple of other things for myself…).
BUT this is working out beautifully. After all it is just a hat and I choose a gauge of 18 sts/ inch, so I am already well on the way …
AND I had something easy to work on during the knit group!
