SYBIL R Part2

In case you wondered if I bought yarn at the Wollmeisterei yarn shop…yes, I did, although I have so many projects lined up already.

Susanne, Sybil R on ravelry, wrote a pattern together with SusStrickArt and they very kindly gifted me a copy of it. It is a beautiful fitted cardigan, made even more special by embellishing it with knitted flowers, a pattern from Sybil R.

The pattern is called Japanese Blossoms Cardigan
and the pattern for the flowers is Blüten Applique

So, long story short, after some back and forth consideration, I did buy yarn for the cardigan at the Wollmeister Shop. I am quite sure that I have yarn for the blossoms in my stash.
I ended up buying the Cotton Merino from Knitting for Olive in the color pearl grey and I am looking forward to working on this.

Finally some rain here in Düsseldorf ! 🌧️

I hope it is enough to make the grass green again for the sheep and to raise the water level of the Rhine. The river is at a record low which means most leisure cruises for tourists are cancelled and the barges cannot sail with a full load.
😏 I wonder how the lack of rain will effect the wool 🐑🧶

SYBIL R Part 1

Yesterday I met with Susanne a.k.a. Sybil R on ravelry.
She has many patterns on ravelry and I have a few favorites. All of them have a new approach to make the garment or accessory a little different. I admire her ability to think outside the box.

Yesterday she was wearing a top which combined two of her patterns:
“No assembly required”, a free pattern on ravelry for the main body and
“Hana Coasters” for the side panels.
Cool, yes?!

We had fun at the yarnshop and finished off our get-together with a yummy cold Japanese dish ( it was in the 90’s yesterday 🥵).

Two more items, one crochet and one knitted, found their forever homes. 🦜

Growing up, my friend Elke always had a budgie called Bubi ( translation: little boy). This one is Bubi IV and very easy care ( no food or water needed and no cleaning of the cage necessary).

See here for my ravelry notes and a link to the pattern:

And I could give the knitted bobble hat to a little boy to keep him warm this coming Winter.
The color Blue seems just right!

Yesterday I met with the little group of yarn bombers who do so much every year all year through until the installation in June.
What was at first just an idea has really snow-balled and it was nice to see everyone working eagerly on their specific projets already.
I don’t want to give away too much, but must say that this is going to be one you don’t want to miss. Every year more and more people are attracted to come to Formby for this event bringing wonder and joy to an otherwise regular weekend and a bit of a boost to the Formby businesses.
If you are interested to participate, they are meeting every Tuesday 2-4pm.
Thank you, Leanne Jones.

It was a bit of a disappointment when I went to my favorite yarn store/ haberdashery in Liverpool. They downsized that branch 🥲
But just to support them, I ended up buying a row counter. 🤷‍♀️
